The ignorance in this thread is incredible. Satanists do not believe in Satan. Satan is symbolic of their beliefs. In the Christian faith, Satan represents things like indulgence and gratification. So it really is the perfect symbol for what they believe. And no, i am not a Satanist.

religions are subjective. most of them are just modifications of others with one common belief, higher power. i think what really attracts people to become satanist is the promise of freedom.

This is the reason I don't think I would confide into a single religions but learn all and try to sift through the lies to find the truth. They all hold keys but not the answer.

Personally I don't think there is a Heaven/Hell, God/Satan. It's a fairy tale made up by those in power at the time in order to contol the masses.

Religions are not bad. Some people in them are. The ideas that most religions teach are great, but I feel most of them are in place to make it easier for the rulers to have an iron grip on society.

As of right now, I don't call myself atheist/agnostic/satanist or any of that shit but I do however believe that the Satanist's "guide lines" are by far the most realistic. Humans are beings of emotions and needs. Christianity and just about every other religion teach you to suppress your normal and very natural insticts just because some book/religious figure told you to and promised that if you do so you'll spend a ga-jillion years in heaven.

I pick agnostic because it is the only term that seems to be the only damn thing that is not definite and doesn't kill curiousity. Always giving the individual the ability of acceptance other people for their beliefs without exclaiming them as infidels as it seems most religious people end up doing, which I think it is against there belief.

I knew an atheist and he was smart as hell and also a "I am never wrong person" which he told me what he believes. You pretty much you become worm meat and he gave me his opinions on other religions, which was pretty logical for an atheist. Atheists for most part just remind nihlists.

Satanism isn't as freaky as portrayed by Hollywood and media, it's very similar to Christianity just life viewed from a different perspective. While it's true there are a lot of nutters that end up in the news proclaiming to be satanists, there's always nutters from every different style or group of religion. Using the guise of their said relegion to justify their crazyness.

If anyone want's to kill some time, look up the Satanic Bible by Anton Szandor Lavey. It's an interesting read and basicaly sums up life to be lived to it's best. Love ones friends and family and to try and achieve ones best in life.

No weirdo lifestyles killing rituals or sacrificial slaughtering. :D

I wonder what the Athiest to *Insert_Religion_with_a_higher_power_here* ratio is when nearing death. I could imagine it being high, right now many could careless, but when youre sitting in a hospital bed staring at death, the "piece of mind" of a heaven/after life sure seems good.

It would be because you wouldn't be as rational. The funny thing about the human mind is that you can know 1+1=2, but when pushed to the extreme as your only solution you can hope it's 3. It's part of the human experience... all we know and will ever know is life, we can't even begin to comprehend death.
