I have some painting to do [pic]

This is my house that I bought in Vermont in the spring... I've almost totally gutted it and re-did the inside in the past 6 months (myself... yes, I'm a stud). I have to finish painting the outside, but we just had a frost last night and its too cold to paint. GRRR!

Summers in Vermont were great. I can't imagine how cold it must get there in the Winter. BRRRRRR. 60 degrees is cold here.

There is still a lot of tools and construction stuff floating around so its been hard to take any decent pictures... here are two interior shots of the great room (22' ceilings)... there are two living room areas, both with surround sound and directv/etc... 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms... the house is right between two major ski mountains and there is a trail across the street that leads to about 4,000 miles of marked, mapped and groomed Vermont snowmobile trails.

In Mid December of last year I went snowmobiling at about 9PM one night... we went to the top of the mountain where there was a little hut with a wind chill thermometer on it. It was 47 below zero...

Last year really wasn't a "cold" winter for Vermont, either... and we still got over 20 feet of snow.

Very nice place you got there. The inside looks great.

Mind if I ask what price range houses like this go for in Vermont, and what kinda of location is it?

                        Thanks...

$200k gets you into a decent house that needs a lot of freshening up (expect it to look like its still 1984 inside and expect to rip out and replace the kitchen/appliances/heating system/bathrooms/etc., change every light fixture and dozens of other small things if you want it to be cozy). I went one step further and gutted it down to the studs on all 3 floors... it was a rental house for a while and the walls got pretty torn up. This would probably be appraised for around $325k once I get done.

As for location, this house is right between Mt Snow and Stratton... in a development with a heated indoor pool, tennis courts, etc.

The funny part is that I have a house on the water in long island too... it's 1/4 the size of my VT house, cost 3x as much and has 5x the taxes
