My mouth is hot... everyone wants in it :1orglaugh

Seriously though, today's concerts reached more people than any other awareness effort ever.

We may not be able to fix their problems with money, but the world can expose those who profit from making the situation worse and hold them accountable.

The topic has never been discussed as much at GFY as it was today. Magnify that by all the other discussions going on worldwide right now. It's at least a positive step as GW and 7 others enter into their discussions. I won't point any blame toward him until he comes back and plays face then ignores it for the next 3 years. :upsidedow

AIDS only wipes out the ignorant. Unfortunetly much of the African population simply didn't have a chance. Not because they're stupid, not because they deserve it, but soley because they don't know any better. It's a shame for sure, but like I said, good luck stopping it.

No, I didn't quite mean it like that. There are certainly some innocent victims, transplants, transfushions, etc etc. They're very much the minority though now. The majority of all HIV infections were easily preventable. :2 cents:

No, what I said is the problem will be solved by HIV wiping out the population. It's 1/3 of the way there now!

Deffinetly better them than me.

The only thing I didn't like was Geldoff criticizing Canada saying we don't give enough ,bla bla bla,we aren't welcome and bullshit like that.We are just a small country that could probably give more but we have many of our own problems

haha.. awareness is nothing ofcourse... you should know that us stupid humans needs to be told something many things over and over again to finally get it... Hey they even made a 1 hour speccal on CNN about it.. Talk about a rarity..

Its true that its a fucking shame that awareness events of that magnitude happen only every 20 years... Not enough obviously...

Giving them free money will change nothing. They will buy new BMW`s and Mercs for their government and transfer rest of the money to Switzerland

benc 07-02-2005 07:07 PM

I'm also in the boat that thinks its basically useless or at least unrealistic.

Any money/aid will be controlled by the warlords. Then people will say, our military should go do something. Well whats in it for us to go thru a bunch of blackhawk down situations. It dosen't benefit us in any way and I doubt liberals would be willing to stomache that type of bloodshed to make a difference.

LittleMack 07-02-2005 07:14 PM

I think the concert and effort are wonderful but the corrupt third world governments won't let the aid hit their people, it sucks ass.
