Bob Geldolf just made me cry like a baby

I doubt what I just saw will play on many US stations. I'm generally the most able to control emotions of anyone I know but that footage bypassed my waterworks button.

It had little to do with what he said, but the footage that accompanied it.

Although you might not like him personally I don't see how you could possibly dislike what he has done with raising awareness. It's not like it's boosted his sales.

Yep it's on MTV/VHI but their "coverage" is a joke... 50% commercials and 25% VJ's talking to each other. Plus they are missing some real good performances. With AOL you can go "auto" or pick which concert you want to watch...

Yes, and those are the feeds I am watching commercial-free on TV with one of my satellite receivers

And that corruption is being addressed in their message. That these worldwide concerts are occuring during the G8 convention is not a coincidence.

Exactly. They keep throwing good money after bad.

They need to send some guns to the right people in order to change anything.

I wept when Pink Floyd played "Wish You Were Here"
Reminded me of some great buddie who are no longer around-
and my first high school band's guitar player Jason Barna-

Died on the second day of High School my senior year in a car wreck. The worst part was I was supposed to be in that car that night- 3 died 4 in comas for a long time with brain damage.

Amazing how music does bring back memories in vivid detail.
I hadn't thought about that incident in a while too.

Don't even know why I am writing this- it just was great seeing PF even if they are looking a little older these days..

Hit the nail on the head, those guys could sort out all their counties problems with the money they've had from the international community, but why the fuck should they actually DO something when bleeding heart fuckwits like Geldof say 'lets wipe out the debt they owe'. fuck it, I think I'll try that with my bank 'excuse me bank manager, I'd like to borrow a hundred grand, I might pay you back or then again, I might get some fuckhead has-been rocker to tell you why I can't'. Give me a fucking break!

Africa is in worse shape now I believe

Does anyone believe the money raised by this concert will go to people who need it? Maybe, but I bet it's far less than 50% will actually goto the poor.

Uhhh, last I checked they are asking to double the aid. In case that "aid" is magical faeries and not money / supplies, then yes, they are attempting to raise money.

Waylon Jennings and Reba McIntire got second chances. I have a picture of a mangled vehicle that people say, "How did you survive that?" Life is so fickle, live every day to it's fullest. Glad you are still with us KB

Great concert. I cried at Pink Floyd too.
But lets be real. Old uncle Bob has a job for life with his campaign for Africa.
Sorry to say this, but poverty will never be eradicated in that country.
