let's review:

slapass starts a thread with the oh-so-diplomatic title: "Fetishbucks, you gutless wonders". "attn: anyone from fetishbucks" wouldn't have accomplished the exact same thing? the thread title and the plug for wegcash and porndollar make it clear what his intentions for the thread were, and it wasn't to resolve the issue.

V rocks, who to my knowledge has no connection whatsoever to the issue, states "they suck". he then adds, without anyone from fetishbucks having had a chance to respond yet, "Finally, I was wondering what sponsor I shouldn't start promoting. Thanks for letting me know...Not to change the subject but XXL-CASH sucks too...I have waited 5 pay periods for a measly $300 bucks and am still waiting. Tried setting it to epassporte, wire and check. Emails, ICQ...I think they must sleep in the same bed as Fetish Bucks..."

when i responded i never called anyone a douche. i said there was "either some mistake or the thread starter is simply a raving douche", a strong possibility in my mind considering the thread title.

in a different thread slapass had requested my icq#. as soon as i saw the request i posted it.

3 hours later, without ever bothering to see if i had responded, slapass is back whining about how he can't get a response out of anyone. that's when i called him a crybaby.

now, i'm brand new here and obviously am not totally familiar with exactly how things work. i'm basing that on the responses my posts have generated. it's certainly not my intention to drive business away or do anything to hurt dig420's relationships with his affiliates. what i saw was someone who wasn't trying to resolve an issue but someone who was trying to defame the company and drive away potential future business partners and i was simply trying to defend the company.

now serious question here: regardless of what an affiliate says or implies about your company, is it considered wrong to vehemently defend yourself simply because he/she is an affiliate? i'm really asking becasue that seems to be the case based on the reactions i've drawn here.

if that is the case then i offer my apology to slapass right here and now.

"Vehement" does not mean "rude". It can be OK to be vehement. It's never OK to be rude and call names when you are representing anyone but your own personal self -- and it's usually not smart even then.

i'm coming from my usual board where calling someone a cocksucker is like saying hello and flamewars are started about every 5 minutes and forgotten just as quickly.

Yep, the title was watered down. Thanks for the support from those who did. I am really not looking for the cash. If he was losing cash on me that is fine to call it quits. The traffic is tricky.

I see others have done good buisness with this guy so who knows. Shit happens.

ok finally back online. I have two issues to address here, number one being why we've been down and number two the affiliate issues.

Our network was severely compromised by an employee with very bad judgement. I can't get into details and the problem is nothing that affects our webmasters, but the whole network had to be taken down. Of course we have a backup network that duplicates everything we have online at a remote location, but the backup network isn't capable of serving everything up, it's just set up for data storage. We have darkcavern online again at the secondary network but there are a few glitches that have to be fixed up by Mikey before I can call the site active again. It will be by this evening. What happened to us could have happened to any company, it's a shitty thing and a real smack in the face, but it's nothing that's going to cause long-term damage, thank god. When I can talk more about it I will. New servers are going in at our primary facility and everything will be back up and running normally as soon as possible.

As for the affiliates: installing executive stats gave us a new insight into the profitability of some of our resellers, and we termed quite a few accounts, mostly for non-conversion. We handle exit traffic from a few of the largest reseller programs in the business. We handle SEO traffic. We handle mailer traffic, and all these traffic streams do very well with us on most of our reseller accounts. The accounts that got termed were, for example, accounts that were sending 50 joins every week with one or maybe two conversions, no verifiable referring url, etc and so on. Some of the accounts were for mailers that weren't converting who had not contacted us prior to sending the traffic so that we could see what we were getting. Listen: If someone sends you 50 joins at least 15 of them will convert just by forgetting to cancel. When NONE of them convert you can be absolutely goddam sure someone is fucking you, and we're not here to be fucked.

Many of the termed accounts had been sending me absolute shit traffic for months and getting paid for it, traffic that would have gotten them immediately termed most places and they should just be damn glad they got so much money from us for so long and recognize that the gravy train is now officially off the rails. I don't know exactly what the deal with slapass is as I can't access the stats at the moment, but I'll be looking into this as soon as I'm able and I'll be back to the board with either an apology or a slapdown.

The people that know me in this business know that I don't fuck anybody. EVER. And I'm not about to start now. All accounts that have been sending us productive traffic are going to be fully compensated for the downtime, we're going to average out their sales and pay them accordingly for every day the sites aren't up. This whole mess isn't going to cost them a dime and I'm going to make sure of that. This whole episode has been a wake up call to me, and my last word on this for the time being is a message to program owners. Hire a tech to check on your other techs. Be a hardass, install monitoring software, make them sit where you can see their monitors, do whatever you have to protect your ass. One bad apple can cause so many problems you won't even believe it until you're in this situation.

My thanks to Mikey, Animal Mother - just doing what he thought was right - and all my other employees and resellers without whom I would be nothing. This whole situation has been a learning experience, and I'm taking the lessons to heart.

bernard (dig410) apparently appeared to allegedly rip his own partners off when we bought sexpays.com from him under the table and paid him direct and then once the domain propagated to us- his own business partners and webmasters started calling and writing as he gave them no notice. it appears he split with the cash fyi. be careful - not sure if he has changed at all since we have never done any business with bernard since then.

slapass is good people - this we know for sure.

if you cannot make money with his traffic then you should pay for the traffic you already took and have a little class.

You mean you don't like webmasters who send bulk email with instuctions of how to sign up and then cancel before they get charged again.

don't you have some webmasters to sue? I heard your revenue is down about 100% since you were forced to stop sending spam to every mother and child.

As for the domain, you SUED me for it when I was still small and Paycom wasn't making their payments and I had no money to fight back. Which you knew. You put me in an impossible position, not that you give a flying fuck about anyone but yourself. The domain was mine, and my partners were paid after I discussed it with them.

Slapass is a great Bloke and his traffic is golden.
And I thank him for posting this on GFY which is after all a webmaster board.
If you can't convert his traffic, Fetishbucks ought to be responsible enough to admit it and terminate his account with a explanantion. To cancel his check because for no other reason that you are not converting his traffic is fraud on your part.
Amateur operations like this always go bust.

the reason why you have to post 500 times in your own threads to keep them alive is because nobody likes you. You're the pimple on the ass of this industry and if it weren't for D$ and KB you wouldn't even be able to pretend that you're a player.

If you don't want an affiliates traffic for ANY reason that is perfectly fine. However, once you cut a check for that traffic you don't cancel it. I doubt very seriously you are going to come back and say he scammed you, as you have heard from many his traffic and reputation are good. Cancelling a check because you didn't make money on the back end is in fact fraud and you would lose in court.

Well, sorry you are having a problem dig420. Not everyone is an asshole and you don't need to turn their monitors towards you, you need to fire them when you FEEL LIKE you need to turn their monitors towards you.

This brings up an issue that seems to effect the adult industry more than mainstream.

#1, DON'T HIRE YOUR FRIENDS
#2, Don't make friends out of employees
#3, Don't ever give someone respect when they don't deserve it
#4, If they are not your right hand man, you should feel comfortable about firing them 24/7 for no good reason

Some of you treat your slacker/wet-puss employees like they are part of an extended family. This is probably do to the fact that in the mainstream you would be an employee yourself, mainly because you don't like confrontation and you like to hang-out with your fellow co-workers. Everyone should feel that you are the man (or woman) and they should not feel like you are a fellow employee.

As for Slapass. When someone tries to post that he is a loud mouth douche, all of those who know and/or respect him will come to his defense.

I am happy your company is compensating affiliates during the down-time, however, I am ticked off that you cancelled an account based on conversions. You have a TOS and it says nothing about cancelling someone because their traffic didn't convert as well as you'd have liked. You cut him a check and he didn't use fraud to get it. You are breaking your agreement. The check and locked money in the account that hasn't been paid are not a great deal of money to Slapass so he is dropping the issue and will not be seeing you in court. Had it been someone like Brad Shaw and $30,000 I am sure you know what would happen.

My 2 cents...

Manowar, I added you and ICQ won't let me login now... ain't ICQ just the best!!!
