Thats right!

And here's my rating:

<SPOILER>

That movie sucked because..

1-Bad an annoying acting ..(especially first third of the movie)
2-Unnecessary humor
3-many implausible turns of event... (especially the son reunion haha)
4-crappy ending.. I mean.. they study us for a fucking million of years and they never thought of sending some of those aliens on earth to see how its like..!?? Plus how the fuck micro-organisms or microbes can disactivate the tripods's protection shields.. !??
5- The story is just stupid.. machines killing humans one by one and going into houses' basement one by one.. with only a crappy camera? I mean.. no advanced censor?! Or just burn the fucking house down..! I know its a 1945 remake but it would have been nice to see a more modern ET tale.. Would also have been nice to see how the government was dealing with the issue, etc..

btw.. why was the guy playing Cruise's son laughing when the two were arguing near the road.. !? Thats some bad acting...

Yeah i noticed that too. Overall I really enjoyed it, although it didn't come close to Independance Day.

OK, just got back from War of the Worlds.

Overall, I think that was the worst movie Spielberg has ever made. What a waste of 2 hours.

The screenplay was a total botch job. The storyline was utterly ridiculous and choppy.

Acting sucked. That little girl should win the Oscar for Most Annoying STFU Kid in a Film. God damn shut up already with the canned lines.

This was Tom Cruise at the level of time to hustle anonther $20 Mil instead of being an actor. A true actor would never have taken this role after reading the screenplay for it.

The special effects were epic, but overkill in so many scenes.

The military in this movie was completely hookie.

There were lots of weird characters in this film. A lot of dark meaning also to many scenes which I think most people won't get unless you were looking behind the lines and scenes.

The ending was as stupid as they come and a total sputtering let down.

One of the main problems the film lacked a hero. Cruise was a putz, a divorced loser who was trying to win respect from his nerd son, who was also terribly cast, and trying to get his kids through the ordeal.

There was no bad guy in the film, just a bunch of aliens you'll swear you've seen before in some other sci-fi film and I bet anything they were re-used ones.

I rate this move a big fat ZERO on a 1 to 10.

The story line is a little weak in some places. But it is a scary story. If you enjoy sci-fi
and like to be on the edge of your seat most of the time you will enjoy the film.
I don't know about you but hearing that sound that those machines send out would
make me piss my pants.

We saw the film last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The little girl one minute being scared shitless and then walking off to have a pee was silly and the older kid wanting to go fight the aliens after seeing what they could do was also stupid and unbelievable. He should of died, even more stupid he survived.

As for aliens acting like humans well that's crazy and we thought Cruises acting was good.

Good film and well worth the two hour and $10.

I dont know if you noticed.. but when Cruise and the two kids took the van to escape.. the whole city was destroyed, people were running and screaming everywhere... the little girl all along was cool and composed in the back seat of the van... then Cruise tell the mechanic guy... "enter the van if you dont want to die.." Then they cut to the little girl and she's all of a sudden hysterical, in tears.. screaming to Cruise.. "Why do you say that!??" .....

man.. that was some BAD editing... or directing.. !

I wasnt very impressed with that film at all

The movie was very choppy. Who remembers when the alien machine grabbed the vehicle that Cruise was in? If you watch closely, he was trapped. Then suddenly, he was running after the annoying kid. They didnt show how he would have escaped from the alien machines grip.

Little shit like that pissed me off. If someone is captured by an alien, I sure as fuck want to see how they get away.

BTW, I thought Batman Begins was 10x better then War of the Worlds. It was much more entertaining, and the acting was superior (except Katie Holmes).

Either way the directors laugh at us, because we paid the $$ to see their films.

I saw the WOTW movie today - here is my take on it - and I am not one to offer a criticism usually about movies - but, here goes....

Remakes must die - I wont pay to see another remake this year - I already knew the story of the aliens and the common cold from the original, so, I kept wondering why I even wasted my time - speilberg did a lot of the iconic shots from the original flick - I am glad I went to see it but I could have done a better movie with no name actors if I had the budget these guys pissed away - the script had swiss cheese holes all through it but I expected that after I read a few reviews online before seeing the movie. Yes, some of the bullshit edits were jaw droppingly bad - especially the upside down truck in the pond. and yes, the son wanting to fight in the face of the apocolypse wall of death was fucking eyes rolling back into my braindead skull bad. I love the ending with the perfectly un-touched neighborhood and the entire family surviving in their dry cleaned clothes. so much for the entire rest of the movie - just give me the happy ending, everybody lives and the bad aliens are dead hollywood ending - everybody claps at the end right? one guy clapped at the end of this show - and by the way - where the fuck was the king kong trailer? I was looking forward to seeing this more than anything - it's looked tits online - we got the new cameron crowe trailer and that made me stop eating popcorn - anyone who would put a cameron crowe trailer in front of the biggest summer blockbuster sci fi flick should be shot and gutted for the rats - idiots!!!

I hoep this review was helpful - dont waste your time - dont rent it either - go see batman begins and enjoy a real movie - brilliant!!!
