When I lived in Tucson we experienced one of the big migration seasons, when the male tarantulas all came out of the hills to mate. We caught two in the house and got cages for them and crickets. They were cool for a few weeks, but apparently they were supposed to die after they mated anyway. They didn't last too long. I let the second one go before it died, but it wasn't doing too well. I researched it all on line and at the pet store, too! I felt so bad.
