Anyone ever tried to get a DRM liscence from MS?

# Microsoft sends email to licensee, advising that the agreement has been executed, and that one original will be mailed for their records. Email includes certificate generation kit and pointers to compliance and robustness rules as applicable. (2 days)

1. For WM Components, this email will point to deliverables (i.e. Porting Kit). Passwords to access deliverables will be sent in a separate email.
2. For WMDRM 10 for Devices, deliverables will be sent after invoicing and payment are complete

# Licensee completes and returns certificate requests as needed (optional)
# For WMDRM 10 for Devices; Microsoft Invoices (3 days)
# For WMDRM 10 for Devices; upon confirmation of payment, we will release the code and/or the certificate(s), as applicable.
# Microsoft generates certificates and returns to licensee via email (up to 2 weeks)

This is the process for getting a DRM liscence from MS.......

I know a few people who have done it and it is actually quite easy, well easier than it looks.

Here's the English translation of what happens.

You go online and fill out a real small form then wait.

Microsoft will send you a .pdf file of a form. You print out 2 copies, sign them both and mail them to Microsoft.

(the spendy part).

Microsoft also sends you a .zip file. You need to sign the contents with a Code signing certificate (the certificate costs a few hundred dollars from verisign or globalsign). To get the certificate you have to send in all your info, address etc. and verify your contact info is valid (they'll call your phone to verify).

Ok once that's all done after they've received everything they'll send you a download link valid for a couple weeks to download the SDK.
