King Kong will be the one that defines him........despite LOTR.......what he had going for him on LOTR was that its been the most read book other than the Bible.......he'll have no such luck on Kong.......plus he has to live up how highly rated the original was especially for its time.........

but then again, there was that disaster called King Kong in 1976......man, now that was a baaaaaaaaaad movie

BradM 06-28-2005 10:25 PM

Oh wow... that looks fantastic! Didn't even know that was coming out!!

Me too. While I didn't think that movie was as great as everyone else made it out to be; it proved a lot to me about Ashton Kutcher.

I am quite confident Jack Black will surprise everyone with his serious acting abilities.

sickkittens 06-29-2005 07:29 AM

Nice. Another movie I want to see. That makes about 6 now. :winkwink:

Martin 06-29-2005 07:33 AM

Is New York going to get fucked up in this movie too?

Danny_C 06-29-2005 07:42 AM

I never thought I'd see people compare Peter Jackson to Speilberg. This is the same Peter Jackson who made Bad Taste. In fact, I wish he was still making those movies.

Red Ezra 06-29-2005 08:00 AM

looks great!!!

you just know PJ loves the old splatter movies he made........just watch the Extended Edition of "LOTR: Return of the King".........its twice as violent as the theatrical version........limbs strewn everywhere on the battlefield.......more decapitations........PJ loves the horror movies

hova 06-29-2005 08:33 AM

Jesus Fucking Christ!!! That was awesome!!

i have seen Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles and especially Brain Dead a ton of times and was a huge PJ fan already at that time. When I read that he was going to do LOTR we all thought that this might be a bit too much for him - but he did a fantastic job. And I'm very confident that KK will be huge too - he's one of the best directors ever in my eyes. I'd just wish he did some real good splatter movie again. :1orglaugh

LOTR proves he's at the top of the heap, I agree.........and you'll get your wish.........he plans on doing next "The Lovely Bones", a movie based on the book of a rape and murder of a teen girl who views the earth from heaven (supposed to be a powerful book but I haven't read it)......BUT........after that, he plans on doing a zombie splatter movie. However, too many zombie movies have been made in the past few years imo; its getting boring. I think if the two studios struggling over "The Hobbit" rights get their act together, he should do that one. Who else but him to do "The Hobbit"?

xclusive 06-29-2005 08:52 AM

looks like it's going to be a great one

Platinum Red 06-29-2005 08:58 AM

Damn that looks like a freaky movie... Though I don't remember seeing dinosours in the origanal one. looks really dark and the ppl in there look like they are dead what is with that? Jack black is a good actor I have liked him in everything that I have seen him in I am looking forward to seeing this one.

Thanks for the link

thats right - he should definitely do "The Hobbit" - i'd love to see that. and i must admit that i didn't read any of those books (LOTR/Hobbit) before I saw the first movie - and only after reading The Hobbit i really understood the full story. that alone is a reason why that movie should be done.

Trax 06-29-2005 09:23 AM

I watched the trailer and do not understand why you guys think that this rocks??
king kong + dinosaurs
niggas PLEAASE

jackson should have added godzilla, elfs, aliens, a couple of clowns and santa clause as well

the real reason it will get done? because it'll gross around $1 Billion worldwide, just like the other LOTR movies did seperately......

Verbal 06-29-2005 09:28 AM

wicked!!

loverboy 06-29-2005 09:55 AM

RuthB 06-29-2005 10:05 AM

all these questions about the dinosaurs.. has anyone here actually read the book?

King Kong lives on Skeleton Island, on Skeleton Island there are dinosaurs, huge creatures etc, it's part of the storyline, and true to his form, PJ seems to be keeping the original story and using it (makes a change in Hollywood!)

Such a tragic love story, this is gonna be a great movie I reckon. :thumbsup
