Siberian cats, hypo-allergenic? Anyone have one? (PIC)
I'm thinking about getting a couple of these because of the hypo allergenic tendencies it has... apparently its saliva contains very low levels of the FEL D1 protein that causes an allergic reaction in people.
I've read that people severely allergic to cats can live with these animals with no allergy problems at all, but I have yet to give it a test run since I can't find any in the Vegas area to bury my face in (pervs) to know if I'll swell up and sneeze like a maniac. Does anyone on here own one of these or know of anyone with some? What do you / they say about the whole hypoallergenic thing? here are some pics

cute kitties. I adopted this massive gray cat, kinda like Little Gray and I was alergic to him for about a month but grew immune.

I have a couple of family members who are allergic to cats, and we have a Maine Coon, which at least LOOKS similar to the pics you posted. They say that being over here is better than any other cats they've been around. My sis is pretty allergic and she won't start reacting until she's been here for at least a couple of hours, whereas other places it's pretty much instant. I think the long fur is better too. It doesn't waft around in the air forever, it just kind of sheds a bit in clumps.

I was at a Pet Expo in Pomona on Sunday and saw so many awesome cats. I will post pics later tonight
