The Master Cleanser Diet - I'm starting tomorrow

I know people who lost ~ 10-20 pounds in just 2 weeks. Not to mention the high energy levels they have afterwards - among many other improvements.

I'm following the original book - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...43021?v=glance

Read about it here: http://curezone.com/cleanse/bowel/master_cleanse.asp

"The Master Cleanser diet/fast otherwise known as the lemonade diet (lemonade fast) has been around close to 50 years. It's the easiest way to give a rest to your digestive organs, and, together with salt water flush, to achieve effective cleansing of your bowel, your kidneys, your liver and your whole body.

You can feel good and get rid of what ails you. This diet has been used for almost every health problem with great success..."

What the hell, only 10 days. Will report back.

180lbs... hoping to hit at least 165 by mid-July

Anyone tried it?

Good luck, man! Dieting is tough for a lot of people, but stick with it and you will be fine. My parents started the atkins diet about 4 months ago and are doing great.

I have a good diet for everyone, it's got 2 easy steps.

1-EAT LESS!

Been working wonders for me.

you can't lose weight by starving yourself and keep it off. you lose muscle and fat and you will gain it back as fast as you lost it and most likely gain more back since you not only sent a clear signal to your body that you are starving to death... but you also slowed your metabolism down by losing muscle mass... and your body is going to react by trying to put on fat anyway it can and you increased its ability to do so by shutting down your own metabolism and diminished its own daily caloric needs while your diet will go right back to sucking ass.

there are no shortcuts and magic pills to give you a healthy life.

if you drink green tea 3-5 times a day, you'll get the same effect.
i mix brewed green tea (cooled down) with iced tea and drink that all day. it will clean out your system the first 2 days & also..
-give you energy (its naturally caffienated)
-keeps your system clean
-boosts your metabolism
-satisfys your hunger (your less hungry)

$3 bucks for for like a box of 100 or something. you'll lose weight & be healthy..naturally.

This sounds more like a way to cleanse your colon rather than a diet. I'm all for a good cleansing, but this doesn't sound like a good way to diet.

The diet is actually not about losing weight, that just happens as well. It's about getting rid of all the toxins and crap we've accumulated in our bodies for years, similar to what traditional colonics does.

You're absolutely right, I'm not doing it to lose the weight, but more as a way to start a much healthier life style. I figured this is going to be great kick start. As for the losing weight, it's simply a fact that people who do this diet lose some, and are likely to gain a little back after the fast is over.

Hospitals here use something called "Golightly"..... I know, .... the name is retarded...It makes you go anything BUT lightly :D It comes in 1 litre bottles, looks like water but has a bit of a vile taste that takes getting used to. A 4-litre pack, if drank over the course of about 24 hours, will clean you right out top to bottom, literally.

Ask at a pharmacy for it, or at least describe it to the pharmacist.. they should have something like it where you are.

of course weight loss happens when you starve yourself. your body needs probably 2000 calories a day, needs protein, simple carbs and fats and you are just going to give it sugar, water and citric acids.

if you are concerned about cleaning your digestive tract, please consider the following:

when you are being prepped for surgery on your colon, imagine how clean it must be. the inside of your body is basically sterile with the exception of the contents of your digestive tract and appendix. your colon has to be absolutely clean of not only undigested food... but bacteria in general.

http://www.markfuscomd.com/bowel_prep.htm

you can buy it in any drug store. its what any surgeon will have you drink to prep for surgery. you can drink the whole thing. drink as much water as you can. then in a few hours its over... after you are finished, you could serve dinner to your own mom on your colon.

Thanks! I will check it out. But one question... will a person be "stuck" to the toilet for the next 24 hours after he/she drinks it?

Good luck with that. Don't forget to watch what you eat after you lose all of that water weight and impacted feces from your colon as a result of that diet.

By the way, Tala, it's not that bad. I just finished the first morning ritual... and 4 cups of water and 2 tsp of salt is quite ok. Already spent an hour in the restroom... Going to be an interesting 10 days

FYI - lemonade would be considered a natural diuretic and consequently, the low calorie diet combined with a diuretic would result in significant weight loss, but it would all be water weight (some subcutaneous but mostly intramuscular, which will make you look flat and flabby), which you would promptly gain back as soon as you stopped the diet.

Weight loss is easy: calories in < calories expended.

Eat less or exercise more (preferably a combination of both). No other way around it.

funny huh. gotta love those meaningless hippy buzz words.

"organic" is one of my favorites. a billion dollar business based on a word that has no legal definition in the US (with the single exception of how it applies to pork i believe), no labeling requirements/standards/explanations and can be put on absolutely everything and sold for more to hippies who "get it".

Meaningless buzz words? What the hell are you talking about?

organic food, food raised without chemicals and processed without additives. Under standards adopted by the U.S. Agriculture Dept. (USDA) in 2000 and fully effective in 2002, synthetic fertilizers and pesticides and antibiotics may not be used in raising organic foods, and the use of irradiation, biotechnology, and sewer-sludge fertilizer is also banned. Food whose ingredients are at least 95% organic by weight may carry the ?USDA ORGANIC? label; products containing only organic ingredients are labeled 100% organic.

The government is after you! lol

haha. you really made me wonder what the fuck i was talking about too.

i just remembered what i was arguing with my wife about. (had to do some quick searching before i was forced to apologize)

the law "National Organic Foods Act" describes requirements for foods that can be labeled as "USDA ORGANIC" by designated inspectors representing the government - but "organic" foods in stores dont carry that label. There is no limit on the use of the word organic on foods. if you go into a big store like Whole Foods - every apple, pea and almost all foods say "organic", "organically produced" etc.... nothing is certified as "USDA ORGANIC" and the point is that everyone is free to use the word "organic" whenever, and where ever they want to and it has no real meaning.

if i recall,... there are only specific laws about the use of the word "organic" when it applies to labeling pork.

this is how hippies are taken advantage of in stores.

That is simply not true. Most organic products at Wild Oats, for example, are stamped with the green USDA ORGANIC logo.

what i said is true. i did not say anything about "Wild Oats". so how would i know what is there?

i frequently shop at Whole Foods (east side of Seattle) and i have made it a point to look for this label. i have never seen it. i am not saying that it does not exist in the store on some products, i am just saying that it is not found on what i believe to be the majority of products in the store.

i did however see "organic", "organically grown", "organically produced" etc. plastered all over everything with no government label.

for example... i looked over all the fruit and vegetables carefully with my wife after we had this discussion and we both agreed that there was no government label on anything we saw. Fruit for example, just had a small sticker saying "organic".

my only point was that everyone at the end of the day is free to use the word organic and it does not necessarily have to mean anything. its not a guarantee of how it was produced, grown or processed and there are no laws (federal or state as far as i read) governing/restricting its use.

I remember reading not too long ago that they are allowed to put on the packaging that the product is "made with organic ingredients" as long as the product contains at least 70% organic ingredients. Does anybody know if there's any truth to that?

Hmm the lemonade mix is kind of disgusting (I hate maple syrup), but people say you get used to it and learn to like it after the third day or so. I've had 2 so far today, and they say you need between 6 to 12 cups a day. I'll try to hit 10

i did it three times....once for four days (succumbed to watching burger king ads...tip#1 dont watch tv)

second time was for three days, got a massive migraine headache, nearly fainted.

thrid time was four five days, crayz stomach pains from blasting salt water out my ass ( tip#2 you will pisss out yer ass, dont make any plans)

my reccomendation: it teaches you how much you dont need to eat as much as we all do, there are additives in food these days which make us more hungry "jeez i wonder why food companies would want you to eat more?" its tough, try and keep busy, best thing is to try and forget your on it. even though I suck at it, it may have some health benefits.

Thing is, they say you will feel all kinds of stuff (headaches, muscle pain, vomiting, fatigue, etc.) during these 10 days as the fast releases all the toxins and poison we have in our bodies to be "eliminated" the next morning when you take a serious dump. They say that whatever you feel usually only last for that day only and will be gone in the next morning.

I finished this cleanse in April. I did it for 14 days which is what is recomended with a minimum of 10. I suggest you do it for the full 14 days but I WARN you the worst part of the cleanse is the end. YOU HAVE TO STICK TO THE COOL DOWN!!!

Also, when you shit everyday don't force the salt water out because it will put too much pressure on your arse. I read this in a forum and took it to heart when I saw pictures of hemmoroids that were the result. Nasty stuff.

This cleanse shouldn't be used for weight loss though you will loose 20 pounds and regain 5 or 6 soon after. The benefits of this cleanse is getting rid of 20 years of hamburgers stuck in your colon as well as ridding yourself of caffeine dependence. When you're done you'll notice your energy levels are way harder and much more productive at work. You also end up with a way nicer complexion and 'look' much healthier

Ask at a pharmacy for it, or at least describe it to the pharmacist.. they should have something like it where you are.
Surgery is always used as a last resort along with all chemicals used with it. I have heard that the drink you can take to clean out your colon before surgery will kill some of the natural bacteria in your colon that aids in digestion. I don't have any links supporting this view it's just something I heard and since Buddhist monks have been cleansing for a thousand years with no noticable side effects I'll stick with the natural way.

Weight loss is easy: calories in < calories expended.

Eat less or exercise more (preferably a combination of both). No other way around it.
This is what I was saying in my last post. I'm gonna do a quote-bump using Big E's post to say it again. It's true. Crash diets don't work fellas. Exercise and eat right... always. That's the only way to look great and keep on looking great.

My first post gave the wrong impression regarding the Master Cleanser diet. It is intended to detoxify your body, heal it, and clean it from all the garbage we've been eating for years. While on it, you don't eat, hence the obvious weight loss, which some of it you gain back when you break the diet.

This is my first day on it.. and I'm feeling good so far. Hopefully this won't get too bad in the following days.
