Pop a couple of Darvocets or Vicodins... usually takes care of it. If you don't have that, you can try those new heated back patches. They helped me out in a pinch when I was on vacation.

Also, you may want to pop a few Aleve if you have them available.

Oh yeah, that icy hot blue gel rubbed on it helps a little too. Good luck!

I used to have real bad back pains all the time.. I use an excersive ball for about 15 minutes every day now and the pains are almost gone.. It started going away after about 1-2 weeks..

This is the kind I use: http://www.thera-band.com/exercise_ball.html

As an added bonus it helps getting rid of the fat around the stomach and butt/thighs.. (don't know if you need that but it didn't hurt me )

I just had 3 discs fused together so take any of my advice carefully.

The best relief I had before the surgery was ice for 20 minutes and slam the advil every 4 hours. Advil needs to build up to be effective so I would take 4 every 4 hours. 2 could do it for you.

Lower back - Lay on your back. Bend your knees. then one at a time bring one knee to your chest. Slow and careful is the key. 5 times to a count of 15 for each side can loosen it up if it is real bad.

I used to have back pain too a while ago. Managed to heal it doing special exercises for back muscles. It may help you too in a long term. I recommend you ask some advise from doctor and/or fitness instructor.

Get well and take care.

You have to try massages and yoga lessons. Will take some time but it helps with most problems.Tylenol is very toxic for your liver.Dont take it everyday and of course dont mix it with alcohol.Marijuana is a very good pain killer
Ice will not help as well, you better warm it. You can chill your kidneys too much. And buy very hard mattress.I sleep on hardest japanese mattress, make abit of yoga in the morning and take at least one shiatsu massage per week.It hepls!

Yea I get back pains, every time someone bends me the wrong way to fuck me in the ass@#$ You would think after getting fucked so many times a person would get used to it... now on a serious note: when I was in the fire dept I hurt my back real bad and pain pills helped but didn't take it all the way away, don't care how much I took... till this day I still have troubles where I hurt my back. If you have pain pills take a few then jump into the shower put that on as hot as you can stand it either lay down while it pounds your back or stand and bend just a little do this for about 10 to 15 mins then go lay down for a few it should help.

Good luck

TOM

Of course, a good physical therapist or chiropractor or masseur/masseuse can help, but there are some easy fixes you can do at home which really help. Ice won't help most spine problems with the usual exception of neck pain. You can get a heating pad for less than fifty bucks at most drugstore chains and the heat is good for loosening everything up, so that you can very gently stretch. Even more effective than a heating pad is a salt bath. Expensive aromatherapy salts from health food stores can be extra pleasant, but fifty cents worth of Epson salt from the grocery store in a really really hot bath works wonders. Make sure to use enough salt. Drink lots of cool water using the salty bath method to flush toxins and keep from getting dehydrated.

I mean, uhm, yeah, I've had to deal with some back problems . . .

Hope this helps.

I have tried everything since my carcrach. The only thing I can recommend is exercise and acupuncture. Try acupuncture 5 times and after that you can feel the difference.

Good luck.

I get a lot of lower back pain. Stretching helps out the most. If it's lower back pain try this:

Try sitting in a chair and cross your legs (like a guy would - ankle to knee) and then slowly reach for the foot that's on the ground. Switch legs and do it again.

You can also try getting on your hands and knees and stretching your lower back by curling it up like a cat does while tilting your head back and then relaxing and do it again.

First you need to figure out if its muscle or if your back is misalligned. If you back is misaligned visit a chiropractor or roll up a town like a sleeping bag and wrap it with 3-4 rubber bands to keep it together.

Lay down on the floor.

Start with your lower back almost as if the towel is going to slip off right above your butt. Lift one leg at a time slowly then extend it back out and set it down. Do this all the way up your back , a few minutes on each section. This usually helps me put my back into place, thanks to a chiropractor that teaches his patients how to do it. Towel should be about 6" wide and about 4-5" thick when rolled, so you need a good sized towel.

Andy

if it is just sore muscle tissue, you should be able to releive it thru taking a very hot bath (with epsalm salts) or a very hot shower - as hot as you can stand it. If you have any kind of muscle relaxent, take them. I back rub may/may not help - depends on who is doing it, if they suck, you might wind up in more discomfort.

Turbo - you're the chick with the AFF t-shirt right? Which also means you're the one with the huge breasts too, right?

I've suffered back pain for years, and one thing my doctor suggested was to get properly fitted for a bra (though I hate wearing them and to this day generally don't). When I did that and got one, the pain in my back was reduced (after a couple weeks). Because I'm kinda lazy about wearing bras I haven't kept it up, but women with super large breasts such as yourself tend to be more inclined to have bad backs due to the additional strain at the front. Getting a proper supportive bra can really make a difference.

Other things that helped me:

Heating pad (or ice) under the area of pain (alternate between heat and ice can help too)
Anti-inflammatories (such as Advil, ibuprofen etc)
Walking (if it's not TOO painful)
Chiropractor (they're awesome and a few cracks here and there can sometimes make all the difference)

Back pain can also be indicative of other health-related problems (for example I was getting crippling pain in my back - worse than I'd ever had it before - but then it turned out that it was actually my gallbladder with 3 golf ball sized gallstones inside it! ).

So realistically, if it's chronic, or constant or at least regular pain, I'd strongly suggest you visit your doctor and get checked out.
