Are you better off promoting...

your standard paysite that charges $30, and making $30 a sale, or 60% rev.

Or are you better off starting your own site, charging less because you have less content, say $14 a month, and just doing it that way?

IMHO ...

You'd choose the upfront commission if you were unsure of the sponsors ability to retain the member ... and vise versa for the revshare option ... research and testing your traffic is what will reveal the best approach for you.

Running your own site is a massive undertaking, and obviously while it's doable this isn't the late 90's and it's not just a matter of throwing up a few pages etc.

opening your own site costs alot of money and will take you longer to see the return but it can pay off.

I would stick with $30 a sale, that way you can figure out easier how much you are earning per sponsor and cut out the ones monthly who earn you the least and try new ones.

Hope that helps

Rev share is the long term money. Test out your sponsor, try them on PPS then try Rev Share. If it's a quality site you'll probably notice alot more money in revshare.

Good info.

What if you where promoting the top converting 25 sponsors. Would you still bet on upfront commisions or revshares?

25 is a lot of sponsors to really test and target your traffic properly ... but as has been said above revshare is definitely the way to go for long term, low exertion income.

And dont think for a second that because a program is massive, that they retain any better, as they usually do not.

I'm setting up a review site. If what you say is true I hope the conversion metrics are a bit different.

btw synapse, or anyone with experience with review sites, what conversion ratios might you see if you where to send 500K choker hits?

Is that ideal traffic to send a non-traditional wanking site?

Review site traffic retains far less then average. You would probably be better off with PPS over revshare.
