who cares what they were or what they are now...they will have had more of an impact on this world than people like us could ever dream of having.

Beatles success was also a product of good timing. Not just being "genius". Most of their influences are/were American blues and early rock & roll like Chuck Berry and even Elvis.

Yes during their pop era. But their true genius is showed later on...they did unheard of things in the recording studios back then to create atmosphere on some of their more inspired albums.

I'm not taking anything away from them, but didn't George Martin have as much to do with that as the actual member's of the band?

I think in future generations they will be compared to Bethoven, Mozart, Bach or whatever. They were composers, and incredibly prolific ones, turning out songs, sometimes more than 1 a day. Don't get me wrong, I like today's music but musicians today are "performers", the Beatles were composers, no comparison.

Yeah, they invented a genre, made a few billion, changed things around, I would say that is not pathetic.

They changed the face of popular music, inspired a generation to get into music and paved the way for all that followed down to this very day.

What have you done to come near this accomplishment?

Your observation is spot on IMO. Though I have to say, most of the "performers" in this day and age barely classify as musicians, they're more like a product than anything else.
