New movies: Star Wars, Batman, Land of the Dead

Does anybody else feel like it's their birthday this month with all these great movies coming out?

Already seen Star Wars Revene of the Sith and Batman Begins... both rocked, I thought! For me, Land of the Dead is a religious experience. Friday is a holiday here - I'm taking about a dozen people to the movie theatre mid-day.

For those of you that don't know.. Land of the Dead is George Romero's final edition to the zombie series. Started with Night of the Living Dead, then Dawn of the Dead and last was Day of the Dead. Everything else in this genre is second rate - I can't wait to see Land of the Dead!

Cheers,

Brad

Yeah I didn't quite get that.. I was pondering it last night. I always figured they'd do 'Eve' or something. However, I really think the idea is that now it's simply the land of the dead as time has passed... night, dawn, day.. and now it's the reality, beyond Day of the Dead where it was then too except now there is a whole society living amongst the dead rather than just a small collection of people.

Brad,

I am going to see Batman Friday. I am so excited. I have always been a huge fan of Batman, collected the comic into my early 20s. For the first time even from the trailers before the hype began it looked like they got it right. He is a vigilante plain and simple.

Star Wars althought not the best of the 6 movies. Was very good IMHO. I think it tied the whole story together well, and if you go back and watch 4 5 and 6, having the first three done and the story complete. It is amazing to see how back when he made 4 5 and 6 he still had the actors react with the knowledge of the previous movies. There are some plot holes after re watching them but still makes for a great story.

Land of the Dead, COME ON MAN... Dennis Hopper couldn't have been put in a better role. This is the type of shit he was made for. Can't wait. If I get all the shit done around the house that I need to get done this weekend I will probably add that to the mix of the weekends entertainment.

I got to hang out with Asia while she was in town shooting Land of the Dead. Despite the fact her father is up there with Romero for shooting hooror flicks, she is NOT a big fan of them.

Evil Dead I & II are some of my all time favorites dude - I hear you. Zombie movies rule - pure gratuitous (sp?) violence. Army of Darkness sported some pretty cool zombies (and crappy but hilarious effects).
Also - Thriller video has been on tv a lot lately, another great zombie-a-thon

let's hear it for Zombies!!!!

Me too!

And Icon, the Evil Dead movies are great too. Those are SPAZ zombie-ish movies, you just never know what is next. Those guys grew up right by me and went to the same schools, too! LOL I remember one of them visited and spoke at our middle school.
