I was at frys and saw they have both intel and amd versions for sale and am planning to get one.

I think the amd 4000 or 4200 was around $400-500 for the chip and another $150-200 for a board.

Sucks that I have to buy a pci express card though, since I have a great agp dual dvi card.

Just picked one up (intel).. $599 for the 3.2Ghz Proc. (ouch)

with 3 X 250 Gig SATA drives

The video card is a bummer.. Ended up getting the ATI Radeon X800XL PCI Express 256MB video card

Let us know how it goes. I'm not convinced it's worth the price unless you can assign processes like you can with hyperthreading.

My next system which I will need soon will probably be a new Dell desktop with dual-core processors to edit HD video with and also to batch encode video files with Cleaner XL.
