    WSJ says Google starting Paypal service

    Paidcontent.org has a link to a story in the WSJ that Google may be making a service similar to paypal. I don't have a subscription so I can't read the actual article.

    This is what the paidcontent.org blog had to say:

    "Just when it looked safe to leave the keyboard, here comes the Journal with news that Google is planning an electronic payment service this year. (The code name is rumored to be "Google Wallet," which sounds very Google but who knows?) This comes from "people familiar with the matter" -- aka "knowledgeable people" -- following a rash of chatter at the Piper Jaffray conference. Details are sketchy but it "could have similarities" with eBay's PayPal, which allows users to fund online transactions though bank accounts or credit cards without providing that information directly to merchants or others."

      Good ... hopefully google will do it proprely (like everything they have done) . Unlike yahoo's finance system wich totally sucks .

                                      I wouldn't doubt google would dabble in this, but that name is way off.

                                          They will in the beginning. After a while when they get huge they will be pressured to either closely monitor and regulate adult transactions or drop them completely like paypal did.

                                          On a positive note, something tells me they will be cheaper than anybody else.

                                                          I've been using paypal for about 4-5 years now but I'd drop it in a heartbeat if I could use google's for adult transactions.
