Cool little gadget for your shooters out there.....
So I picked up this cool little gadget for use when shooting outdoors. The biggest problem I have with shooting my digital camera outdoors is that I can't see the LCD very well. It's highly reflective and glares really easy. I find myself shying away from shooting outdoors because I can't make heads or tails out of what I'm shooting because the LCD is hard to see outdoors.
I ordered this little gadget from B&H and it arrived today....it's just what the doctor ordered. I took the band off of it and just hold it up to my LCD to preview the shot then put it back in my pocket. It actually compresses to a small unit and easily fits in your pocket or camera bag. Just thought I'd share that little tip with you shooters who shoot outdoors. This thing will work with your pro digital cameras or your little point-n-shoots. Have fun kids! Here's a link to B&H ![]() |

sweet, that's pretty cool. I wish there was a way to make outdoor shots less bright without having to fiddle with the damn exposure for every angle you shoot in. That would be too easy though... manufacturers always have to hide those settings deep within the menus though of course.

I tend to shoot off the LCD as well... but you do realize there is a small window you can look through , right??

My current camera is LCD only and it drives me crazy. I miss all kinds of detail that I would catch looking through an SLR type viewfinder. The LCD is nice for viewing back what you just shot while at the shoot, but for focusing I am definitely going back to a viewfinder with my next camera purchase.
Thanks for the tip though Dean, since it seems that the product you described will work for the playback mode as well (less tilting of the camera to show the model/others what the photos are coming out like). I have seen a similar device on Canon cameras, although it looks more accordian like. ADG Webmaster |
