And considering that I know nothing at all about php and shit, I'm pretty fucking proud of myself for figuring this shit out, lol.

the app is somewhat complex but once it IS setup, the mods are a simple web-interface & upload & button clicks away from being in use. you HAVE to get the zoom gallery mod if u r lazy about using FTP. just zip you files, create your gallery, upload thru a webpage, its all ready to go. its bangin

fris, i didn't do the template but i can refer you to someone... i would recommend getting a designer just to hook up what you want it to look like & finding someone whose familiar with the mambo template setup to adapt the design.

isnt mambo is CMS ? I wouldnt use something like that for just a blog. I use bBlog. It uses SMARTY and is totally customizable. Have my brother doing the design right now.

quick dumb question: do any of you with blogs put some kind of security into the blog directory (wherever you throw your blog files)? I'm using wordpress. If so, what? I dont want to make the blog itself less public, I just don't want someone hacking in and messing around with my stuff.

well just make sure your host doesnt have +Indexes cause the directory will be viewable then if you have your videos and such. they will go hotlink them like crazy on forums.

most hosts have indexes turned off by default unless you request them turned on.

mambo has a registration option & loads of "permissions" features... its good 2 start with mambo because if your blog grows into more than just a blog, mambo can handle it :D

i've been looking around & many of these adult "blogs" & most of them are just daily updated ads... so yeah, i'd say mambo is overkill if that's what you are doing... like i said previously, if you plan on taking your blog beyond that, then mambo is the right app. mambo really isn't a stable content management application (as far as pics & video are concerned) so i'm not sure why people tend to say its strictly meant for that purpose...

ya'll know i have a blog about to go up... you will find nothing but ethnic girlies up in there. one of those real blogs, not a sorry ass pic post that everyone is calling a blog these days.

i had a blog site years back for this local adult scene site i had but shut it down when my pay sites opened. now i am opening this one for my members more than anything cause they are always asking me questions about traveling and and shooting. plus it will be a great place to hate on opflix when he's not looking. lol now that i think about it, that's all i will be writing about.
