As a child, ( I did 2nd grade in the PI), I really enjoyed the Cock Fights.

It has nothing to do with superiority and all to do with culture and diet.

Harder work ethic in some Asian cultures and they're historically smaller people due to diet.

Second generation Asians in North America tend to be tall, fat, and academic bums.... in other words indistinguishable from the other "indigenous" North Americans.

I guess we have quite a few things in common. I left the Philippines when I was in 5th grade back in 1979. Spent the next 24 years in the USA prior to coming back to PI to start my outsourcing and media businesses in 2003.

I haven't read the entire thread so someone might have already posted this but some prof in a university did some extensive research into this and came to the conclusion that in general Asians are mentally superior. His work was stopped because of political incorrectness.

This is a myth. I have never known a lazier race than the Chinese.

They have more holidays than any other nation I am aware of. Three weeks for Spring Festival...The industrial output of the whole country falls to zero.

They do tend to place a higher premium on education, but this is because the only way for ordinary people to get anywhere in China is through exam scores. When these people come to the west where things are slanted more towards effort, by and large they struggle.

With all due respect, I'm not sure about your conclusion. Many of the industrial giants of the Philippines--Sy, Tan, Gokongwei, Ty, etc. were poor Chinese immigrants or first generation Filipino-Chinese who went from rags to riches. Indeed, Chinese are so dominant economically in Southeast Asia that this has led to historic ethnic strife (Indonesia and Malaysia, most notably). I don't think they can achieve such a standing by being lazy.

Yep. Such research is very unPC and can lead an academic to trouble. Look into Charles Murray's "The Bell Curve" and you'll see what I mean.

Personally, I think "racial averages" re intelligence and other success factors vary over time and social contexts. Read Thomas Sowell's book ETHNIC AMERICA and you'll get a lot of historical support re the fluidity of "racial averages" re intelligence, etc.

There is nothing politically incorrect about intelligence test data. Such data is studied in colleges and universities everywhere. The politically incorrectness comes in when somebody uses that data to 1) support an agenda 2) discriminate 3) attribute the findings to genetic arguments for superiority/inferiority.

A scientist cannot reasonably conclude the 'superiority' of a race given the varied results of intelligence scores on intelligence tests. If the story is true and he was stopped from his work, it's because of one of the above, or his research was full of obvious flaws.

I completely agree
