Seems like someone gets out of control at every event. Property damage, getting too friendly with others and what not.

I escorted some one to the hall crawl thing on Monday and she was dressed really hot and no one really came up to her to put their hands on her. It was still early and people weren't drunk enough I guess.

The show, on the floor, isn't where the problems take place. Well not normally at least. It's also pretty easy to get into the show without spending a dime on a badge. As an example last Vegas show I didn?t enter the floor until the final day.

The parties and small party shows like SD is where you see the biggest problems. If I threw a party I wouldn't know who these people are. Unless I checked ID's and badges. Everyone may have an ID but not everyone has a badge.

And like I said, you would really ban some of the top people in this industry. I have seen and heard of some really crazy shit during parties. People have broken things, heard of girls getting slipped G, stolen things, very hard sexual advances, etc.. All from people that the board knows and loves..

People that hit most the shows know who and what I'm talking about.

Yeah, I've been there for some wild stuff.

What I'm saying is... it's easier to police a party if say, "no badge, no enter" kind of thing.

So if you're banned from the show itself, can't register and get a badge... then the party sponsors can have someone at the door stopping anyone without a badge from getting in.

Many parties are invite only these days anyway, for just such a reason.

While this would help, no doubt about that.. You would be amazed at the amount of people who come to the shows and never register for a badge. Models often don't have badges. Invite only works for smaller parties, with a big party it creates a cluster fuck.

I agree something needs to be done. But I think the parties need to be put together better first. They need to hire someone that knows what they are doing rather than passing it off to an employee. Drink limits for drunks, security, house limits for entry, entry needs to be streamlined, etc.. It starts with the person putting the party on.

It's really getting pretty sad that women can't even go to a show these days without getting molested. And it seems to be happening more and more often as times goes on.

Here's a thought. All the big programs are always giving out things to the webmasters, whether it's t-shirts, or hoodies, cups, pens, etc. Well why doesn't a program (or TWO!) give something a little extra to the women who go to the shows. I just did a quick little check on Google and there are plenty of companies that can wholesale and even put custom logos on PEPPER SPRAY!!! I found a number of sites that offer 1/2-ounce spray cans of PEPPER SPRAY complete with keychain holsters in the $2.75 to $3.00 range. And those prices were from some companies requiring only orders of 12-each to get them that cheap.

Yep, that's at or less than the price of t-shirts done in bulk. And it might just help curb the number on incidents at the shows. And yep, these types of promotional give-aways are tax deductible to the Program owners so why NOT DO IT??? This is my little cry of help to the Big Boys out there, so ADULT.COM, LIGHTSPEED, hahaha, FLASH CASH, JOIN RIGHT NOW, SUNNY DOLLARS, ARS, TOP BUCKS, NICHE PAY, EXTREME PAYCHECKS, BRAIN CASH, PLATINUM BUCKS, or ANY OTHER PROGRAM out there, how about it?!?!

http://www.defensedevices.com/wholpepspray.html

Hell, I flirt on the boards and ICQ all the time with the women (and sometimes the men :Oh crap ), but this shit is just too out of control. When people get so shit faced and out of control at events I'd love to see a special section of pics out on FUBAR Webmasters of these idiots getting OWNED with a nice shot of PEPPER SPRAY!

:2 cents: :thumbsup :2 cents:

At the risk of being hated by all the people who go to the shows to drink, how about just-No more free alcohol.

50 drunks at a party.

I think its funny people flip out over a drunk guy who was obnoxious towards a woman.

have you ever been to a party where there WASN'T at least one drunk groper ?

This shit happens at parties all the time , and office parties too, and sometimes people get fired over their actions, sometimes they dont.

I would be alot more concerned if this was taking place at a private party or a personal photo shoot etc..

It was in front of alot of people at a party so theres plenty of people to get involved. It usually brings a bit of humour to the night.

If you truly want to get rid of drunk perverts at a party, dont serve alcohol :)

kernelpanic 06-16-2005 09:28 AM

wait, what happened?

BradShaw 06-16-2005 09:30 AM

If we banned all the creeps who do no real biz at shows, there would only be 100 people there.

I'm sure it's not a "bit of humour" to the woman who's crying her eyes out for the next hour or so and afraid to go out again, much less to the next show.

It's disgusting and unfortunately you can't ban someone, but kicking the shit out of someone could easily put a stop to it. The first year Cybernet did the show in San Diego, I was with a ton of people at the Players Ball on the patio. This dude grabed my boob (he is an industry photograper, but I have no idea who he is) and I put a lit cigarette out on his tattoo, there were people wanting to smack him out but I figured the humiliation plus the burn mark were sufficient enough. It's sad that these industry girls have these freackin leeches clinging to them at the shows. There is simply no excuse. Regardless if she does solo girl, gg or hardcore double anal gangbang, nobody has a right to lay a finger on them! I agree with the Pepper Spray post...Idiots~

Take 100's of highschool loser computer nerds, 10 parts alcohol, and 1 part content, and you are bound to get this type of result everytime.
p.s. no offence to highschool loser's

NTSS 06-16-2005 05:18 PM

Increase security or make their presence more visible. Let people know ahead of time that this type of behavior will not be tolerated. When annoucements are made you could add a little reminder to "be nice to the ladies". Posting signs is something that would remind people to keep themselves under control. You need to nip it in the bud by creating an atmosphere that says "Don't fuck with the ladies!". You know...the way it's done in the classy strip clubs.

BobG 06-16-2005 05:22 PM

Someone should write Alberto Gonzalez to ask him to set up a task force to police the shows.

Ok, while I understand what you are trying to accomplish, I'm sure no one is going to sponsor free WEAPONS at a drunken webmaster convention. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen! Our models deal with the same groping, etc at shows, we usually solve the problem by not leaving them unescorted. When there is a problem, the offending convention-goer is first given an "educational" warning, and on 2nd offense I've seen people kicked in the nuts, poked in the eye, or slapped into a wall. There are MANY stand up people usually hanging around that are happy to help out any woman in distress.

You gotta remember that I'm a Texan. If we had any major shows HERE I would have suggested something more appropriate for the situation. Like...

The LightSpeed edition, .50AE Desert Eagle Mark XIX, 6-Inch Barrel, Black Oxide

You drink and drive, you lose your license.

So if someone gets drunk and gets out of control at an industry event, I propose that they be banned from future events... either permanently or temporarily.... like a year (as with losing a driver's license).

It's not fair that someone can do what has happened with Arika, Vanilla and the other girls, and the guy just goes back to work and then the next convention as if nothing happened.... all the while saying "hey, I was drunk... I can't be held responsible."

If you did that same thing at a non-porn related trade show or convention, you'd be walking out in cuffs, much less kicked out, much less banned from the next one.

What do we do? "Hey, it's porn... just because a woman is naked on her website, doesn't mean you should grope her... bad!"

That just doesn't cut it.

Now Arika, as well as other girls need to go to the next show and wonder.... will it happen here too?

Well, they can't be spared from all of the creeps, but perhaps they should be spared from having to see the creep that did it last time.

Thoughts?

Start sending more traffic to LightspeedCash just 'cause it ROCKS :)

I'm a pussycat at heart...but I won't tolerate being disrespected. Fortunately, I've always worked with people who didn't tolerate that either....the nut-kicking strategy was actually Steve's suggestion ;)

in this post not going on eather side of the issue. But what makes you think that " unfortunately you can't ban someone," umm this is not some public thing run buy the goverment, they sure can ban some one.

jayeff 06-17-2005 12:10 AM

Any of you people ever visit a message board called "Go Fuck Yourself"? It's a place "where the industry meets" to talk about women as pieces of meat and where being insulting and aggressive is regarded as an effective marketing tactic. It's a place where a bit of third-rate drama runs to more posts and views than a discussion about major changes affecting the industry.

So boards like GFY are just that: boards. No-one gets hurt and you aren't supposed to take them too seriously. But 365 days a year, they are setting the tone for our industry. Is it surprising if all that starts to spill over into real life?

Or maybe we are just kidding ourselves anyway and the tone of the boards comes from real life and not the other way around? Plenty of the people in this thread apparently think that violence is an appropriate response to a drunk getting out of hand. That's pretty much the way it is at the bar just up the road from here, but then who looks to red-neck bars in small mid-west towns to define acceptable standards of behavior?

Behaviour generally comes in a package. Not everyone with a foul mouth has a potential for violence. And not everyone who can be violent doesn't know - drunk or sober - how to treat women with some respect. But if some aspects of antisocial behaviour are considered acceptable, even cool, get a crowd together and you had better expect the others to appear sooner or later. Sooner, when you add alcohol to the mix...

Adult.com runs 4 Webmaster Access shows a year, there is one person who is banned for trying to ruin it for all of us. In addition, there is someone else who is banned for doing damage at Internext shows. It should be no surprise at GFY that I am not a stranger to banning.

I couldn't agree more... You want to keep crap out of shows? Make sure they're real webmasters, affiliates, or sponsors.

I've got a list of "potential" sponsors so deep that I won't be able to do a review on each and every one of them on my review site for at least a year, and then... there will be more.

I've got plenty of cash, and coughing up $250-$300 isn't the issue. The ISSUE is, as an "atendee" I'm not going to hand over C-notes to "shake the hands of people" I already know online. As a matter of fact - Sponsors should be pissed.... I would be... How much is a booth? $2000 large? (at the least?)

I can't, won't and will not pay that kind of dough to "meet sponsors". Could I meet "girlie girl X?" Big fuckin YAY.

The law is the same no matter where you are. porn convention or at church. If a crime happened it could have been reported.
