Basically, if you earn money from outside the country, then it is legally tax-free.

However, I think the US and 2 other countries in the world, require you to still pay american income tax even if you don't live there anymore (unless you give up citizenship?). I'm not 100% on that because I came to Costa Rica from Canada, where I can keep my citizenship and pay no taxes there

Well we would figure out a monthly housing budget for you, we don't stick you in any particular spot. So you could choose your own apartment/home.
