Good places in Florida for affordable beach houses

Right now i'm looking at Panama City, not because of the city, but because every single girl from alabama & GA vacations there during spring break ; )

Any other suggestions, not looking for pay more than $1500 a month, & its gotta be on the water, bay or ocean, no difference.

Yeah, you can get tons of homes down there for that kind of money. Still some good deals in that area on rentals.

1500 is upper end.

I know a company that leases vacations homes down there for less then that. Is that what you are looking for?

You're right, the panhandle will be cheapest. Pensacola, Ft. Walton, PCB, Destin... those are all pretty areas. A guy I used to date just bought a house on St. George Island. He paid 7 figures but you can rent monthly there for much cheaper.

gulf side = where the majority of hurricanes hit - like not having electricity for a few days?

if your gonna buy gulf side do your homework on em - insurance is now fucking off the chart and have an inspector go anal - most homes built in florida really didnt follow any codes so to speak till andrew came through.

hit it up

$270k for a house on the beach? LOL! that was a good one.

You might be able to find a condo - 2nd or 3rd tier from the beach for $1500/rent, but the condo will be small and old.

I live near Panama City. Here's how it is. If you are looking or lease a property on the beach then you can get one for not to bad. The reason is that those people have owned those properties for several years when the property value was much lower, they don't owe much on the property, but if you want to buy the property, then you are looking at a min of 500k.

Good luck hunting.
