When that song was out a great radio station around here that got to play whatever they wanted to was being switched to a pre-canned Clear Channel format, so as a "protest" the outgoing staff played Macarena continuously for 3 days until the new owners kicked in with the fluff.

William Shatner singing "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" has got to be one of the most appalling performances of all time. "Una Paloma Blanca" could qualify as one of the most irritating, not because the lyrics were a whole lot worse than plenty of others, just that when it was in the charts, it seemed like nothing else got air time.
