If it is not central air, good luck. One AC really will not do the job to well.

yeah, im not talking about central air, can't install that in a townhouse. at night i'll probably keep the bedroom door closed and just cool the bedroom but during the day i want the place to stay moderately cool.

Good luck getting the whole place to cool down with one window unit.

it wasn't built in the last decade, so yes it must be in the ghettos. when looking for places even the new ones didn't have c/a. i didn't really want to pay more than 1000/month for rent, if you want c/a you have to add a few hundred per month at least. i looked at places that were 1400 and didn't even have air...

just buy two 5000 BTU units and have one one on each floor. You can get those new ones you can move around (on wheels).

You need central air, & then a wall unit for your computer room/office.

well i would if i could, but i can't. im not gonna install c/a on a place im renting. i wanted to get a place with c/a but the ones that were around 1200 with c/a were too far away from downtown and since my girl works downtown, she wanted a place that wasn't too far away. otherwise i'd have to pay 1400-1500 for a place with c/a sadly. rent prices suck in ottawa.
