Help, photoshop question..eraser tool

Hey can someone help me figure out what the fuck is going on with this? Ive never had it happen before.

I was erasing some stuff in photoshop and all of a sudden it stoped erasing,

and yet when I use the background eraser or magic eraser tool it works.

UG.

Ummmm shit sorry I can't help....... thought about it a bit and asked my buddy Tylo who is a designer and we have no idea why...... you might have a hidden selected area that might not make it work..... look at the layer that is selected, etc....
