I know someone had posted about informing surfers and other people not in the industry about what is going on with all this 2257 stuff. I was curious if anyone has a link or someplace that has a good explanation of this that people not in the industry would understand.

I have some other forums I use that are non-adult oriented and would like a simple short version to show them.

Yes I tried to search but it wasn't working for some reason as usual and I remember links to some short and to the point explanations of this.

I could give you a paragraph of how I explained it to a friend...but, I dunno if you should post to the general public how easy it will be to get a model's id...

Just don't explain the affiliate system as you'll get more surfers turning into webmasters or cleaning their cookies when signing up.

Well it isn't going to be just posted for everyone to see. I just have a few people who are interested and a couple people in law school who might go back and read the whole thing for me if I explain it simply and from our side.

I tend to ramble and don't explain things very well.....lol

Yeah...We are all concerned about surfers finding out that they can sign up as an affiliate to gain access to a models true identity....Now you come along and want to educate the surfers about these very issues.

Not a very bright thing to do.

I agree, we didn't discuss the privacy issues, even though that's the main concern we have. We posted a message to them though because Liv was getting so many emails wanting to know if she would be closing down. I was surprised at how many surfers even knew what 2257 was. She was getting messages from members all over the world who knew the laws had changed. I think all the adult news sites have covered it, is how they must be getting the info because I've haven't seen anything mainstream about it.

Well I do not intend to send out any id's to anyone so I surfers can try to get them as much as they like. I think most people in here seem to be happy with the companies not sending out the Id's and protecting the girls safety so all in all I think that will be the majority decision.
I feel that the privacy issues will strike home with many people if explained right and hopefully help get our view across.

That is great... Very simple and easy to understand. That is what I was looking for something easy to understand and show people are side of things and that they need to get involved without giving too much info away.
