The punch that randleman landed on cro crop was well timed and had some luck involved... Every fighter has a punchers chance in a fight.

submitting randleman is hardly newsworthy. he's perhaps the dumbest fighter in mma. a k-1 veteran getting knocked out standing by a HammerHouse fighter is just plain embarrassing. there's no way you can say with any degree of certainty that cro-cop would take out sylvia, mir or arlovski.
and there's no such thing as a lucky punch. there is, however, bad defense. |

Wasn't a real roll, had to be careful not to hurt himself before his fight, just flowed a little. Thought you might have been his manager buddy there with him./ |
Now that's good stuff!

MMA is the closest to a streetfight you'll find anywhere. As anyone who has fought knows, you can go in with all the training in the world, be the baddest motherfucker around, but one fuck up somewhere can and will lose you your fight. Everyone has been defeated, even the Gracies. Though using Gracie Logic, Gracie Jiu Jitsu has not been defeated, as every MMA fighter now learns it to be able to defend against it, or even win with it. |
Damn you all for posting the details. I have yet to see the latest UFCs.
I'm from Cincinnati myself and am very pleased to see a fellow Cincinnatian raise up in the ranks of UFC. A guy I used to train with tried out as an alternate in the UFC and was beaten in under 40 seconds of the first round. It's funny how easy it looks on the screen, but when a guy you've seen kick two guys on the street knocking them out cold gets beat in 40 seconds in the big show, you realize real quick how serious these fighters are. Another buddy of mine is training with Hexin (sp?) Gracie. Fuckers always wanting to wrestle me to show me how good hes getting. Little thick fucker looks like Shamrock. I'm 7ft tall and too out of shape to ever consider getting into competitive fighting anymore but I do love the UFC. Pride always seemed low rent to me but I guess thats because I never knew a whole lot about it. Go Rich Franklin! |

Maybe some day I'll try out for UFC but only if everyone here signs up for my jeans site and promotes the shit out of it to pay for my medical bills when I'm done.
hehe |
I liked UFC 53, but it was pretty sad when Eilers blew out his knee. The Cro dude was pretty impressive, and Rich Franklin surprised me by beating the crap out of Tanner.
But honsetly, I caught the last PRIDE Bushido PPV, and that was way better. First time I ever saw Gomi, and I came away impressed. I thought he was going down (fuck, he was giving away like 25 pounds) before he unleased that wicked knockout. And it looks like Baroni was gassed (as usual) but found a second wind. At any rate, his fight was perhaps the best of the night, even though I cant stand that guy. As a fan of both UFC and PRIDE (and K1 and anything else I can watch), I would say CorCop isn't the monster he once looked like. I would say Fedor will hammer him, and I'd take Orlovski over Mirko right now, too. I know Mirko and Silva fought to a draw, but that wasn't under the regular PRIDE rules. Also, I would have to say I think Igor can take Silva, and I am really hoping that they make it thru their brackets and this fight happens. I think it will be a slugfest, and Igor will put him to sleep. I like both announce teams (UFC and PRIDE). Yeah Ruttan talks a little shit, but he was a great fighter, and he brings a lot of good insight. Just from the Bushido PPV alone, he pretty much called at least three of the knockouts, as to how he thought the one fighter was setting up his opponent and/or a flaw in the fighter defense that left him open for something. I do think PRIDE will throw guys to the wolves, putting people in fights that dont belong in the ring (at least at this time) just for filler. UFC has much more competitive matchmaking, and more weight classes, again - less mismatches. |
The bushido 7 event rocked... lotsa kos... Yea and the gomi is a fireball his KO was sick!

Hey Steve...you should try to get a copy of the last Pride New Years Eve show. Gomi vs. Pulver is awesome!
Randleman is a great athlete and may have been world class if he would've branched out his training more, but Hammer House isn't known for its submission defense. In his fight with Sakuraba he rolled right into the armbar. The Cro Cop guillotine was just sad. I think he's 1 for 7 in his last fights. |
