I would never touch Intermix. Especially not with such a high volume that Lars has aggregated. He holds a third of the daily average. Will be more than tough for him to stop loss at a reasonable price. some reasons why I would never buy mix: - They did already sell 50 % of their MySpace stake to Redpoint Ventures: http://www.intermix.com/about_press_...19&startrow=22 - Spyware or not ? http://www.intermix.com/about_press_...739&startrow=1 and the only way they made it to the stock exchange was via a reverse merger with a broke motorcycle company. so one should not speculate on a MySpace spinoff but the result of the upcoming lawsuit. |
nice - i'll have to lok into that
i killed it with google |
I'm amazed at how fast that site grown.

The problem with MySpace is that what you see is what you get. Online communities have a long history of sitting idle while someone else comes along and tops them.
That's a big problem because their core userbase is very trend oriented. Mostly teens to mid-20's. All it takes is the "popular kids" to make the switch to another service and everyone follows them. This is not a hypothetical situation either. It's exactly how MySpace got their userbase, and how the popular spot before them got theirs. |

i think myspace is not going anywhere anytime soon

someone from here should create a new "myspace" type of site

They're in a lot of hot water for installing Spyware on people's computers.
The NYS Attorney General has filed a fairly serious suit against them. Here are some stories following it all... http://www.internetstockblog.com/ticker_mix/ |
myspace makes money? had no idea.

Someone else will come out with something new and provide compelling reasons for users to switch. Mark my words. It may not be this year or next, but I'm sure we'll see something on the scene by 2007 that is a threat to MySpace. |
Lars... any other tips on stock to buy???
|
I bought 2050 shares today.

Intermix reached an agreement in Principle with New York Attorney General
The penalty is only $7.5 mios over three years http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/050614/146165.html?.v=1 Asking around $8 in after hours on island.com now .. Lars was right , I was wrong .. So drinks are on him .. |
LARS, your a RICH motherfucker now!!!!!
good call homie. can i come over for lunch sometime? pal? buddy? |

it's now at $21 in after hours trading j/k but it will be soon! you can retire from this stock Lars |
it's just temporary and gonna fall back down again. The summer slowdown applies to myspace also. And, they've been advertising mostly the same stuff for the last 8-10 months now, revenue can only fall like this.
|
Lars please point me to where it said Intermix is considering spinning off myspace.com
I agree with you, this stock is undervalued and has a lot of room to grow $12 is very reasonable and with the NYG settlement it will be moving up over the next few weeks and months as revenue growth is excelerating nicely. Also for many people that dont know while myspace.com is the biggest site of theirs, they also run 30 other sites in different entertainment categories |
Intermix has 60 million subscribers to their opt-in newsletters
That's some bling bling right there, cause I know what I make with 80k mainstreamers. |
Their CEO is a cool dude. Nice little resume:
Founded iMall and sold it to Excite for more than $500 million and was the primary investor in Webmillion, sold for $20 million, and GreatDomains.com sold for $100 million. |

no shit ?? i didnt know that |

WooooHOOOOO fuck yeah ! Finally I got lucky and got a huge POP sold half at 7 and 7.15 and 7.25 just bought again at 6.50 Muahhahhah |
How does myspace make money? I never see any banner ads on their site. Edit: ok on the main page I do, but there are none on the profile pages right?
The domain was registered in 1996. Was it live in 1996 also or did it just go live last year and grow in popularity that quickly? |
