so not making it is actually better. It lets sunlight and air in, and moisture out.

Untidy beds may keep us healthy
House dust mites are linked to asthma
Failing to make your bed in the morning may actually help keep you healthy, scientists believe.
Research suggests that while an unmade bed may look scruffy it is also unappealing to house dust mites thought to cause asthma and other allergies.

A Kingston University study discovered the bugs cannot survive in the warm, dry conditions found in an unmade bed.

The average bed could be home to up to 1.5 million house dust mites.

The bugs, which are less than a millimetre long, feed on scales of human skin and produce allergens which are easily inhaled during sleep.

The warm, damp conditions created in an occupied bed are ideal for the creatures, but they are less likely to thrive when moisture is in shorter supply...

I like a clean orderly bedroom , you make the bed and already you started off the day doing something.

flirty 06-07-2005 08:03 AM

you dont wanna mess up your clean clothes with all the dirt you may "produce" while... :pimp

Why wipe your ass? I mean you are just going to shit again sometime.

I love a made bed but I tend to not have extra time in the morning so I have a bad habbit of sleeping on top of my made bed with my favorite old blanket..That way in the morning I just have to fluff and straightend.

I make it once a week when I change my sheets!

LittleSassy 06-07-2005 08:14 AM

why do i have to make my bed? i like them messy but clean for all i care. im much comfortable with that. why make it nice and neat when you're gonna ruin it anyway.:)

Shoehorn! 06-07-2005 08:27 AM

People still make their beds? I thought people only did that when they were driving across the Oregon Trail 200 years ago.

Another page of bed making fun.

when i know i'm having company over, i always make the bed cuz its directly across from the bathroom, so people coming out of the bathroom will be able to see the bedroom, and i dont shut the door cuz i dont want people thinking i have a dirty bedroom to hide LOL

My place is SUPER clean (im a neat freak :winkwink: ) but I rarely make the bed. I like snuggling up in all those sheets & blankets when they are all messed up & fluffy.

Im usually gone in the mornings before my husbands awake, so he ends up making the bed. Its just more comfortable to sleep in a made bed, less cover clutter, now unmaking it...thats alot of fun too!

Tom_PM 06-07-2005 08:45 AM

Because it's good discipline. Structure in your life.

JUSTB 06-07-2005 09:02 AM

It doesn't really matter to me unless company is coming. But I have to have clean sheets that smell good. I use a duvet so it's pretty easy to just pull it over everything.

dennisthemenace 06-07-2005 09:24 AM

I have the best of both worlds - fitted sheet and comforter only - no other sheets. When I'm done sleeping I throw the comforter over the bed and it looks neat and made, but it's an illusion.
:thumbsup :1orglaugh

My wife's bed has all the frilly shit and she makes it every morning. Yup, that's right.. separate beds.. there's nothing like it, happiest household on the block, without question. :thumbsup
