REAL TALK...What is the damage done to a child who views porn?

I don't think that kids should have access to porn...plain and simple!
Yet I did see porn when I was underage; but I had already fucked two girls before I even saw any porn. I didn't see a lot of porn like on the internet or even video. I just saw some mags.
So I don't think it harmed me, yet I acknowledge that I didn't see tons of the stuff.

So if it did harm me, how would I know?(besides the fact that I'm on GFY )
Am I solidly against anyone under 18 viewing porn because that's simply my belief that I developed by following the rules of our society or is there a "scientifc" reason for my opinion?

What are the data showing what damage was done in a particular case of a minor viewing porn. For example: Do kids who saw porn commit more crime; have bad relationships, do poor in school...etc...

It is because porn interferes with the judeo-christian ideals of marriage and celibacy beforehand, that society seeks to restrict it.

lol yeah I think eventually a kid will get to an age where they will be curious and see it anyways, I think the issue is if like a sick person shows a young kid porn, like wacko jacko!

Most kids see porn at puberty.. and always have for as long as the stuff could be printed. Thats why Anti-Porn people are trying to use the same arguments they do with pot now - pot isn't the stuff you smoked in highschool - NO IT'S SUPER DEADLY 1000X HYDROSKUNKYHASHIFIEDDARKCRYSTALDRAINING WEED!
Porn isn't the same porn you saw as a kid - no IT's MIDGETHORSEFUCKINGBRAINWARPINGKIDKILLING PORN!

It's ALL CHANGED AND SO MUCH WORSE.. cause everythings gotten worse right? lol. Just stupid scare tactics that play to parent's paranoia.

porn has more to do with disobeying religious beliefs.. human societies in general have difficulty talking about sex, and it makes some of us uncomfortable. Until of course we get the chance to do it, then there's suddenly no problem.

As a society, do we embrace sex or hinder it during our development phase as a child? I'd like to believe schools actually believe in sex education, when in fact most don't really talk about what kids need to hear. Sex is cool but should be done safely If we all want to do it, why inhibit it?

So does seeing porn / nudity while growing up hurt our development? I don't think so in the least. In fact if anything our curiosity won't be driving us nuts if we've seen what it's about.

You don't let kids watch porn for the same reason casinos don't let kids in or the bars don't let kids in. They aren't ready for it. Kids should even be allowed to drive until 18. Science has shown that even at 16 and 17 decision making skills part of the brain is still very immature and doesn't become full mature until age 25. That's why 16 and 17 year olds have the highest rate of car accidents and fataities of any age group except those over 85.

Well.. thats part of it. But most of it is that they don't have driving experience yet lol. Learners always make the most mistakes in any field.

I don't want my 5 year old kid exposed to porn, simple reason....

I'd have to explain procreation

I'd then have to explain death....its kind of like taking away innocence

Another word for it is "Creating an imaginary world for children" & its great for those who can afford to buy it for their kids.

Which is fine....but when my kid turns 13 & hits puberty, if he wants to steal playboys from barnes & noble, or grab a sears lingerie catalog....or get it on a computer, he's gonna get it...nothing i can do, its human nature, it can't be stopped

i know i wasn't....

Not really new driver that are 16 adn17 and new driver that are 25 or older( some epeole don't get their licenses untithey are older ) and you will see 16 and 17 year olds still have higher rates of accidents. In fact 16 and 17 year old males have the highest rate of accidents when other 16 and 17 year old males are in the car vs driving alone.

Oh i know it's still worse. But it's also other factors.. people 25 and older have shed the "invulnerability of youth" have babies in the car with them etc. Don't get me wrong.. I'm not saying they're good drivers.. and im not totally disagreeing with you except that it's not all about brain development.

it really depends on the type of porn. for a kid having access to playboy porn by sneaking magazines or peeks or something of that nature is not likely to do much harm, it's pretty natural and normal.

but for the same kid 13 years old having access to some of what is freely available on the internet could do a lot of harm, not harm that you'll see immediately. but will alter that kids sense of reality and how relationships work with women. can you see kids 13 years old viewing gagging, choking and puking porn, slapping the women and all of the various types of hardcore that push the limits? well that stuff is freely available without protection and could definitely affect a kid.

with all that being said that's all without the involvment of the parents, if the parents are involved in a really responsible way in the lives of their children they'll be able to do a huge amount of countering any of what the child might have been exposed to so as to explain to them and give them more understanding.

My point is that kids brains are not mature and that's why you don't expose them to porn and shit. It's not just some Chirstian thing. I'm 36 and I've been an atheist for almost 25 years and I wouldn't let my kid watch porn. My kid should be a kid and does not need to know about double anal penetratin and bukkake just yet.

When I was 12 my friend would steel a copy of his dad's penhouse and we'd read the stories and I think "Man I can't wait to have sex and get some of these orgasms". I had no fucking clue what and orgasm was. Ironicly I was already jerking off and having them I just didn't know what they were called.

Thats very interesting. I think I agree with a lot of this.

Funny...I grew up not being told anything about sex and relationships with females. My dad was in Vietnam and mom was the church lady with the veil and all dat shit. I think that not knowing much at all hurt me more.
I remeber the exact time I asked my mom about sex...and I quote: "when the time comes you will naturally know what to do"...The final effect of that was it took me a long time before I would "ACCEPT" a blow job and even longer before I ever ate a pussy.

I feel stupid about the way I thought about sex when I was young. Sometimes I have a thought of those days and it actually makes me cringe.
Now since I'm 43 yrs old I think cringing at this point is probably damage.
I would have been better off staying ignorant and maybe that's the point of the conservatives: "Stay stupid and you want know you are not happy".

I hear your points; but saying young ones have more accidents may not be so exact. It could be that less experienced have more accidents. What is the rate of accidents of all ages who just began driving.
I think a 30 yr old from Manhattan that moves to suburbs of LA and starts driving for the first time has the same rate of accidents as teens.
I have seen this shit first hand.

I read Madam Butterfly when I was 12 but I never fucked an asian dude in the ass.

I read War And Peace yet I never killed a MoFo.

I think you read the digest because you were a little horny slut and when you turned 17 you had the guts to finally act it out. I mean, what stupid assed kid in grade school doesn't know what dicks and pussies are...hell, they draw 'em on their fucking desk and bathroom walls.

i knew what they were called, all right, and i knew how to have them. i think i was 'educated' reading those books, because i remember, years later (5 at least!) and I was putting my talents to use with each and every lucky guy who passed the threshold of my bedroom door...

some things you never forget.

but no porn for kids; sex education for teens. it makes for more fulfilling sexual experience when they get older; okay, you can at least assure you come, like i do!

Theres no problem without fucked up people in their lives.

I was lookin at porn when I was very young with my friends and It was super exiciting and ONLY turned into some fucked up really fucking nuts when adult figured found out and turned it all weird/symbolic/crazy etc.

People are the ones turning normal minds. Not really people, more like people accessing some fucked up shit. Thats all it is. Thinking/refrencing just up pedo/missionary rules.. the same ones the same missionaries/pedos break etc. Just some little stupid game, then throw it in with some normal person's views and it can start to look really fucked up.

There is no problem with children looking at or participating in sexuality if the person is clean, able and awake. Nobody is thoguh, so most kids never gain healthy sexual abilities until they are 16-18 year old deprived individuals who have probably developed some food dependency or a masturbation tendancy, the latter which is seriously 'BAD' by this fucked up pedo christian society. That is all.

i'm participating in the illegal use of marijuana right now, but i think i was clear in writing, 'i think not', meaning, i don't see any coincidence. are you high, too? ette

Kids that look at porn now a days are less turned on by normal natural looking girls than we used to be. Look at how many kids on this board react when they see some bushy pussy for confirmation of what I just said.
