Discuss what's fucking going on, and which programs are best and worst. One-time "program" announcements from "established" webmasters are allowed.

How much bandwidth do major programs burn through

Curious how high it gets in the thin air for the big boys.

I'll throw a pure guess out there: They've got hosted galleries, full movie trailers, 20 to 40 strong affiliates (15+ signups per day, etc), the member's area archives, etc.

Quiet mentioned a few weeks ago that he burns through 60TB per month (about 200mbps) on just his shit, which is closed, so I would guess that a major affiliate program sponsor is running 3x that, or 600mbps. 180TB per month.

Chris from Natnet was talking about a program burning over 4 or 7 (not too sure) gigabits second ...

Any paysite without a 100 mbit line nowdays is small I guess ...

Brad usually would break it down, explaining how it scales lower and lower just because the host wants to be able to add the lines for himself to expand (due to the large client effectively subsidzing the cost), but I'll take a shot in the dark and guess:

$60k - $80k for 5Gbps per month.
