Be aware of a "virus removal" program called Wareout.com

My machine picked up a nasty trojan which done the normal things these exploits do (opened windows, redirecting URL`s and machine was painfully slow). So I run the several clean-up programs on my machine (AVG, Lavasoft and the new Microsoft anti-spyware program that is in beta still).

Running these three normally do the trick and they all find different things so it is essential doing it however once this was done I noticed something called Wareout sitting on my desktop which I had no idea what it was. I rebooted the machine and the program was still their and it launched during start-up and found all sorts of spyware, adware and other crap.

I`m thinking to myself...this program looks powerful finding all this stuff but I guessed something was amiss so Googled the URL and it transpires that Wareout is another trojan masquerading as a virus / dialer remover type program that automatically installs itself in the program files.

Fuckers...

I just got the Coolwebsearch "about:blank" virus on my computer. Got most of it off but the bad news is that it can't be totally removed and I have to live with this pest until reformatting the hard drive.

Yep the coolwebsearch variant is one of the worst and cwshredder is one of the only tools that I found which had some success at removing it.

Worth mentioning to any people who are unfortunate enough to get it is to use the system restore (on XP) if you have no joy with cwshredder.

Also remember to check out your bookmarks in IE as it will most likely be full of porn, dating and gambling links that were auto-bookmarked.
