    Come Jun 23, 2005. What do you see happening?

    Affiliate programs wont be giving out hard copies of model info along with the content they give out. And not all people will convert all sites to text.

    How is it going to work, will they give you a warning and then file charges or what?

                      but the only major difference between these regs and the earlier ones pertains to 'secondary producers' and their requirement to hold documentation. if there's going to be ANY increase in the enforcement after june 23rd, it will be against these people, since los federales could have gone after primary producers at any time, and I don't know of a single incident of a primary producer getting raided in regards to having documentation.

                          the regulations say they can knock on your door at any time during normal business hours. you have to be there to show them the docs.

                                              If sponsors give out free content they HAVE to give out the model info. READ the regs. Sponsors can't say no.

                                                  correct. but again, this does NOT absolve affiliates who have posted thumbs or promo material without having the 2257 docs in their place of biz. if the sponsors won't give them up, you can't have them online.

                                                  now how hard will they enforce this? that's really the million dollar question.

                                                              Because they're hasn't been. They know all the legit porn companies follow the rules and comply. they know all the small guys won't comply and that's who'll they'll bust. They do a nationwide sweep get a few dozen or perhaps hundred or so people and claim a victory in the battle with evil pornographers.

                                                                      i keep hearing this thrown around, but where do you find qualified attorneys who are savvy about this stuff? i've read maybe three or four names in various articles on adult webmaster boards, but frankly some of them sounded more like a sales pitch than anything else. what if you're like me, and you don't know anyone in the biz?

                                                                          I never said the affilaite won't be in trouble but as soon as affilates say "So and so sponsor wouldn't give me the docs when I asked for them" well the DOJ will see a nice big juicy fish to fry and those affiliates will be given sweetheart deals to become witnesses against that sponsor.

You can't read without an attorney telling you what something says.Which words in the reg give you trouble. I can tell you that lawyers in my area never even heard of 2257 let alone be any kind of expert in it. Now maybe those here with below average intelligence may not understand it, but as far as me well not trying to brag, but I'm sure my 130 IQ can grasp the context of what the regs say. In fact I'd say anyone with an 100 IQ could understand them if they would actually READ them.

                                                                                  That's the main problem no one wants to READ the damn thing, they want others to read and then tell them what it says. Another problem is too many people are trying to read into what they WANT them to say, not what they actually say. Let the lawyers find the loopholes I'm sure there are many working on this as we speak. I damned sure the FSC lawyers are.

                                                                                  If you are an American and you have content on your site that's more than text, made after July 3 1995 and is NOT anime then assume you have to comply. Once you do that, figuring out what you need to do to comply is actualy pretty damed easy. It's not fricken rocket science.

                                                                                      If you get an email from them I guarantee you they will have a copy of your entire web on their computers already so taking it down is not an option. More than likely they will just show up and ask to see your docs. As for the whois protection you asked about they will just go to the registrar and ask for the credit card info you use to pay the registration fees and find you that way. If you have explicit images on your site you need 2257 docs by the 23rd and kept up as prescribed in the regs. It may be a lot of work but to operate legally that is what you need to do.
