Newbie needs TGP advice.... Real Vs Fake

After spending the last few days reading on a lot of forums, I've come to a stage where I have some questions about starting a TGP.

I've read both the tutorials just a few threads below and found them to be very helpful.

My question is on Real TGP's Vs Fake TGP's. I am having trouble trying to understand why 1 would be better than the other.

From what I have read, a fake TGP just has links to galleries that aren't submissions, but they are galleries made by me, and contain my referral code etc. I am supposed to get a randmoiser script, and a big list of hosted galleries from sponsors which would just rotate every day. It would help me save time by not having to review submissios, and I wouldn't run into problems with cheaters and such. I would be credited for all sales.

The downside being that getting traffic would be extremely challenging since I have no reciprical links etc?

Could an experienced hand please tell me if and why a real TGP would be better? How is the majority of income from a real TGP made? Would I throw in a few of my own galleries randomly and hope that I would get sign-ups?

I would like to start a TGP and I have a domain ready:

At the moment it's parked with Sedo, and I am getting random traffic to it.

I'm actually prepared to pay for a design and implementation..... does anyone offer services like that?

Getting traffic and reciprocal links would take the same effort regardless of whether your TGP was fake or real. Each would require some work building and maintaining trades, and the only difference was whether other people built your galleries (real - submissions) vs. you or your affiliates building them (fake - all FHG's or your own);.

As far as design, I do so (see sig), as well as MGK ( www.twistedbydesigns.com ) and dozens of others - a simple "Spam me with TGP designers" post in the main forum will result in each designer posting.

The majority of TGP's (unless it receives say 75-100k visitors per day, in which case it could rely on advertising of paid gallery spots) make money from sign-ups to the programs you are pushing with your free hosted galleries.

Start a "fake" TGP (use TGPRotater).
submit your own (homemade) galleries to other ("real") tgps. include your "recip code" in those galleries (next to the recip code of the "real" tgps you are submitting to).

Use Choker for more traffic.

Money with Submission Based TGP

- What alot of people do is they add a certain percentage of their own Galleries in with the submitted galleries into the gallery pool to increase sales. Or they could reserve certain spots on the page which are their own galleries.

- Banners and other Creative Advertisements throughout the site

- Selling a percentage of skimmed traffic.


Advantage with a Submission based TGP
- Submitted Galleries are already usually thumbed by the submitter. This means higher click ratings for your site and less work for you.

- Submitted Galleries can have unique content. Not the free stuff that every sponsor gives away. Yeah people buy their own content to promote sites. This helps in building bookmarkers.

- Submitted Galleries are usually unique. Your visitors won't see the same style galleries over and over again. This increases the building of bookmarkers also.

Randomizer Script?
Also a randomizer script wouldn't be very wise to use. Find something that ranks your galleries by the most clicked and highest ranked. Doing something like this will give you the ability to scrounge the most profit out of your site.
