Same here, which is why i asked for some other factors and variables. I'd leave this thread now before you get called an idiot for not giving chadbitch a straight foward answer.

I'd say little less than 1/3rd of 500k will be bookmarks for traffic skimming of 30% out to trades :2 cents:

How about another bump

I think a better way of putting it would be along the lines of: At what traffic level would you take a no skim TGP over a 500k skim TGP?

50k? 100k? 250k?

Personally I would plump for around the 100k mark.

Did I get that right? lol

I've a feeling that you hit the nail. Anyway, have a cookie just in case :thumbsup

But Quawee you are the motherfucking king of stupidity, how can you claime that you can figure this out in your head without knowing the productivity or anything else????

God Damn it, do any of you own a TGP???????????????????????

That the first thing making really good sense...

now to answer the question (sorry if I kill the drama), there are at least 2 ways of measure this somehow vague question
a) EMPIRIC METHOD: you'll need both skim and not skimmed TGPs. Kill the trades of the skimmed TGP or change to non-blind (ie hard links). Compare.
b) MATHEMATICAL METHOD: Get the total number of hits, assign a value of 1 to 3 (depending on how do you feel today) where the value is the average of visits to skimmed TGPs Joe Surfer does before closing the browser window without taking his wallet off. Now take the skim percentage off (in the 30% exmaple you'd end with 350k). Repeat as many times as the magic number you assigned. Done.

Just before you start yelling and whining, I've posted the above part joking, part serious. The main MAIN value to a 500k TGP depends basically in the willing of the TGP owner to do things right for the gallery or spot buyer or screw him. The latter happens in 90% of cases, which drove us to avoid any relation with skimmed TGP from now to any future, but maybe you'll feel lucky, or you know things better than us... so spend some money and find out by yourself

$2 from what?

fris 06-05-2005 03:40 PM

a lot of mgp/tgps there i wont even bother submitting to anymore that i have partner accounts on, cause when i see my gallery it takes forever to get to my gal. you know the deal click 10 times and you get it. they skim to hell.

only the respectable mgp/tgp's you will get a low skim rate.

85% to gals is a good ratio

i would rather have a 80k-100k site at 85% to gals than a 500k site skimming to hell pissing off people.

plus your prod will be much higher. then eventually you can bump up 90% to gals.
