FUCK 2257, Sponsors should worry about SB1386 instead (SPONSORS READ!)
Everyone is all panties up their asses about 2257. I don't know why but there is an even bigger problem you should be concerned with.
The problem goes by the name SB1386. It is a law in California that if you do business inside the state or conduct business with its residents, you must inform them when one of the following happens, The personal information of a CA resident is stolen and includes: first initial or first name and last name in cunjuction with on of the following, social security number, drivers licence number, state ID number, debit card or credit card number, account number with pin, security or access code. With all of the emails I am receiving at email addresses I only use for sponsor programs, it is obvious that some dillwads out there have my name and social security number. If the asswipes who stole the DB are ever caught or law enforcement does a "buy" to see what is in the information, you are all screwed because none of you sent me a letter to my home letting me know my info was stolen. So... remove all of your CA webmasters from your online DB and store them offline in a spreadsheet somewhere. Yours truely, V_RocKs |

Yet another hard to enforce law.
When someone steals data from A, he burns the data on a cd and takes off. It's likely that A doesn't know about it so how are they supposed to notify people of something they didn't know occured?
