				2257 and model releases
I apologize if this has been discussed before, but does the new law ever discuss the need for maintenance of model release documents? I see in a lot of these new proprietary 2257 databases fields for date of production, but how are you supposed to prove that the scene was really shot on this date? It seems the person keeping these records could just make up a date of production and slap it in, with no need to prove it. Am I off here? |

				 | Yes, they could do that, but then it would be fraud.

				 | OK- so then we as producers are on the honor system of putting the correct production dates in the database. But what if a webmaster gets IDs from a primary producer without the model releases, so he has no idea of the production date. The girl/guy is over 18 now, but the scene could have been shot in 1990 when she was , say, 14. In the eyes of this new law, does this not matter? Thats all Im trying to figure out...if we need to be storing the model contracts in these new databases... |

				 | So then you need to have the model release on file, but it just doesnt need to be referenced in your database. |

				 | Widget as to your response to not needing the model releases is true but how else are you going to provide the proof of date of production. I am sure that not to many producers have another way to prove the date of production other then the model release or an apppendix. I am so Glad that we were always paranoid on collecting as many docs of models as we could before ...It all will pay off now. For as much content as we have it would have been a shame and a great loss if we didnt have all the necesary docs.

				 | 2257 and model releases have nothing to do with one another.

Well it's very easy to confuse them. I mean a producer sees them as the same thing cuz he gets the ids when he does the paperwork and releases.
