    Comcast is shutting down my account!

    Why?

    Because I told them to!

    After the boys at Verizon come in the morning to install my new Fiber Optic DSL at 15 mps, I won't need the shitty cable modem!

    That's right. Fiber Optic. 15 mps. DSL $34.95 per month.

    Envy me.

      really? i don't think verizon offers DSL for that fast and cheap in my area yet. damn.

          There are 4 test cities in the U.S. for the new fiber optic DSL. I am just lucky to be living in one of them.

          They also have a 30 mps package for $199.95. But I dont need that, 15mps is just fine.

I'm in Murrieta, it's available 2 blocks away, but the morons at Verizon didn't think to wire up my street before anything was built on it . So it looks like I've still got some time before they'll roll in the fiber to my street, and I can't get them to give me an approx time that they will do this.

                                                                                                  Someone's been digging up blocks of concrete all over the neighboring streets for the last couple weeks though and I haven't got to see what they were doing .. even though they pulled up two in front of my yard. Hopefully this was one of verizon's contractors.

                                                                                                      and it's not DSL, it's pure fiber to your home so in a few years when you need more bandwith they just up it. And it's not distance dependant like DSL is

                                                                                                      Adelphia and Cox already upped their speeds to match Verizon. Comcast would probably do the same soon too

                                                                                                                  It is Verizons contractors. Thats where I live. It is one of 4 test cities for Verizon that is going 100% Fiber Optic. You will have it shortly. You will also have fiber optic phone service and TV (On Demand) as well.
