I don't understand how so many cafes in Amsterdam manage to stay in business. There must be at least 1000 cafes in Amsterdam. You could find the smallest street in the city and there would be a little cafe there. I like it that there are so many cafes, but I just don't understand how they all stay in business.

I don't think people here have a problem with other people being muslim in general and also don't have a problem with them being in Holland.

What a lot of people here do have a problem with are the following facts:

16 million dutchies
1 million being muslim
70% of the people who commit a crime in Holland are muslim

What is wrong with these stats?

That is the problem here. We pulled the muslim community into our country some decades ago (because there was too much work and too little people to do it) and we failed to give those people a propper education. A big part of the muslim community felt left out of our society and anger amongst those people began to grow. Of course we denied this problem being a problem and that was how the situation escalated.

That's the situation where we are in now and I think it will be very hard to solve. A lot of the younger generation muslims here do not have any respect for the dutch society. And actually I don't think that you can blame that all on them. Anybody who feels left out of a society will have problems respecting that seem society.

I think the upcoming years will be some rough ones in Holland.

Last time I visited Amsterdam, I rented an apartment from a 30 year old muslim guy. The apartment had porn and alcohol in it, and he was a regular at the pot smoking "coffee shop" across the street.

In all the time I've spent in Amsterdam, I've never really noticed many people that I thought were muslims though. I've probably seen more stoned rastafarian Jamaican black guys than muslims.

watched a story on a norwegian news channel the other day.. the story was that basically tons of dutch people moved to norway due to high crime in holland... norway was about 20 years behind so that wanted a better living up here..

can't be that cool with all the crime down there? :/

To Norway? Never heard of that. I don't think the crime rated in Holland is much higher than in other countries.
