i like de la mar on walking street if you want to be close to the action... there are other nice places but it all depends on your budget. right now, de la mar is probably about 20-30US a nite. as promised, here's a few thai honies.... note that i have not edited any of these so sorry for any quality issues (ps - its really hard to choose which ones to post cuz there r so many hotties! :winkwink: ):

i used to buy the cards for 1500 baht (slightly over 1 baht/min). ATM's are fucking EVERYWHERE & yes, as long as you have those PLUS symbols (& other accepted types), there is no problem getting access to money. as a matter of fact, i recommend u only bring a few travellers checks because ATMs r so plentiful & cheap 2 use :thumbsup

What is a "Soi"? My friend was living in BKK, in some place called "Soi 6"... so I googled for it and it looked like some shanty town... now I doubt he'd live in a ghetto, so I was confused.

this will all depend on you but you can check out The Water Market (Dtha Laat Naam spoken in Thai). the the royal palace is definitely a beautiful site and if you're a grundgy/packer type... stop by Kao San Rd (big market there). if you're here for the honies, you gotta hit up Nana Plaza & Soi Cowboy. those are not hard to find as most of the taxi drivers will know that if they don't know anything else... be careful as well... always use a metered taxi & try to keep an eye on where u r going... they WILL take u for a ride :winkwink:

insect repellent is fine... its hitting northeast areas of thailand, not tourist areas like BKK, the beach cities & the islands. you're good if u r planning to stick around there. have fun! :thumbsup
