Can reg. surfers contribute? I know a lot of loyal PR3-4 rated sites visitors who might be able to help with this.

I think that's a great idea to help the community

thank you for asking - our webmasters are not part of an affiliate program as you may think. We sell plugin movies to webmasters who then in turn put them on their website(s) for a monthly fee. We keep records of all the sites our feeds are on and have (as many do) protected URL's so that they cant be used elsewhere.

If anyone wishes to help - I suggest that if they are a webmaster that they get their own lawyers and file their own lawsuit with the help of the free speech (just dont sit back and assume they will be the only ones filing).

A surfer could help by going to the free speech website and contributing there. that would be the best and more direct path to helping everyone in the industry out. The money will be used wisely. http://www.freespeechcoalition.com/

Affiliate programs have their own problems now considering that its more of a matter of getting the documentation together (ID's) etc specifically content purchased outside USA, then matching it to the content online. Companies that have live cameras once again have their own set of problems coming up with ID's and getting them to webmasters who signed up for a percentage of the sales.

Problem is that not even the DOJ has an idea as to how to implement this stuff... and when they do launch on certain sites they have pegged.. how it will stand up in court.

I'm not spreading "fear" the story is on the front page of The Drudge Report today!

If you feel the DOJ shutting down file sharing sites has nothing to do with the plans they have for the adult industry then that's your problem.

If you haven't visited the DOJ website and found the new Obscenity Prosecution Newsletter ( first release Spring 2005 ) then that's your problem.

Informing people of the actual moves of the DOJ is important.. not a scare tactict.
Fair enough, it was however the way it was presented by saying "It's already started" that gives the impression that the DOJ has begun acting on the new 2257 regs instead of waiting for the 30 day period to end.

My apologies if I took that phrase wrong

This has nothing to do with our industry? And wtf the DOJ has been shutting down sites for years. I remember them shutting down a couple that I helped run like 4-5 yrs ago. Nothing new. And of course it doesn't take long to shut the sites down. They usually send a tech team out to the host with a warrant and remove the hardware and put up their shit.

If your putting the new 2257 regs and cracking down on legal porn in the same light as cracking down on Thieft then your a fool and even more so a dumbass.

The main overlooked fact in the speed of this shutdown vs a shutdown of a site regarding 2257 is that the torrent site is doing something blatanly illegal, while the porn site isnt, as long as its 2257 documentation is in order. So when the porn site falls under investigation the ISP hosting the site will not be as fast to shut it down since it is in fact a valid customer with a valid business that may just need some time to get its records in order.

No where near the same thing.

I put this post in the one of many 2257 threads. I realize it's not related to file-sharing, Bit-torrent.. It was just hot so I put my in. Not trying to be a reg, post hound or whatever - just glad I can give some info to some folks who are afraid to even post in this forum.

the point is.. if a site DOESN'T HAVE A 2257 STATEMENT... then it would be breaking the law and could just as quickly be shutdown. That's the point.

why haven't we (the adult industry) formed something such as "adult entertainment industry of america" that goes after sites/users that are distributing xxx passwords, sites such as fusker and etc

THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION AND
U.S. IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT

U.S. IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT? Was it run by illegal aliens?
