Uhmm someone who is successful and doesn't care about a lousy $500? I spend that on an average meal and it's digested and gone in 24 hours. At least earbuds you can enjoy for a long time.Comment

thanks for pointing those out! I would. I have tinnitus and when i do listen to music i need to listen at low volumes as well as block out background noise.. I already started to use big noise cancelling ones just to wander around with. Things like bus brakes in the city reach noise levels that damage your hearing.. when you're listening to music you turn it up over background noise and therefore louder than it should be.. happens all the time because it's kind of relative - for instance, like a frog in slowly boiling water you get used to loud music at a gig because the background music and chatter is loud.. then the warm up music is louder.. then the band is full on.. try taking ear plugs to a gig from the moment you walk in the door and then when the band is blaring full on take them out... not good.Comment

it's still a bit pricey.. but not crazy.. I paid about $2-300 for special earplugs (not headphones) that give a flat frequency response (ie the range is equally -25db not different frequencies being muffled by foam) and they were specially moulded to my ears. This is miniaturised noise cancelling stuff and headphones.. not cheap but not mega expensive.Originally posted by gangbangjoethanks for this informative post.
