2k seems to be right around where most "domain people" price their regular 3 worders.....

there is a difference between OLT.com which could actually mean something or XGQ.COM
maybe its just me... and I don't care as I'm no expert
but I would never ever pay two grand for a domain like XGQ.COM

2k is a standard price for 3 letter domains now.
2k is a standard price for 3 letter domains now.
2k is a standard price for 3 letter domains now.

The premiums as mentioned above sell for between mid 5 figures and low 6 figures!

No these aren't as good as aod.com or coa.com but 2k isn't a high non wholesale price. I've seen people say they will buy ANY 3 letter domains for between $500 and $1000 because someone like you thought they weren't worth a damn.

can someone please show me the standard price book for domains?

a domain is worth every penny you can get out of a buyer, and not 1 red cent more.

with that in mind, i dont know 1 buyer who would pay 2k for any of those domains no matter how many times you type
"blah is the standard"
in a row

People buy domain names for many more reasons than to sell them instantly. When I know people that will pay $500 on ANY 3 letter .com and I don't even have one who's to say what they will pay in 5 years? They might be offering $5000 for any 3 letter .com by then. Meanwhile back in 2005 $2000 is not an unreasonable pricetag to stick on a 3 letter .com.

Here's what a few people in the domain business had to say on a domain forum. A quick search turned this up...

1. "3 letter .coms mostly do not go for less than about $2k atm. So I disagree with anyone who says that a 3 letter starts in the region of $xxx."

2. ".....By all means though, if anybody has similar domains in the XXX range please contact me for immediate payment and smooth deals. Heh!"

And a comment from another user on that line: "Yes im interestead aswell 3 letters for that price is impossible to find (almost)"

3. "Unreal those saying this is $xxx. On ebay you can sell ANY 3 letter combo and get about 2k or more!"

4. "currently they sell for ~2k on ebay easyly, in the next few years it may be quad drupal that"

5. "*Any* 3 letter .com is fetching at least $1.2k in the wholesale market. End-user sales for bad letters are in the $2-3k range."

yep. your right. you can easly make your money back + thousands. so go ahead and fork over the 15k this guy is asking and make your money. what are you waiting on? take advantage of this ground breaking deal, you might not ever see something like this again

Umm, if I paid 15k and asked $2000 each I would make $1000 profit whenever the last name sold. That isn't "thousands" and it isn't a fast enough turnover for me to invest $15,000. If I was in the business of sitting on domains until they sold I would have already sent an offer.

Which brings me to the main point, you stick your fat head in ANY thread on ANY subject and talk blindly out of your ass as if your opinion is fact. The guy listed his selling price, he obviously paid less than that. I'm sure if he gets 0 interest in X amount of time he will reconsider, or just decide to hold out.

your right, i know NOTHING about domains. ofcourse you do though, as you have clearly shed so much light on the subject.

my head isnt fat, my domain portfolio is. you dont know me, eh? or a thing about me? what i do?

lemme clue you in "fathead" i spend on the avg day 4 hours searching for domains. this is what i do, and over the time ive spent doing it, ive got pretty good at it. ive got domains worth more then your life in my portfolio, can you say the same?

but ofcourse, i dont know wtf im talking about, and what ever you say must be law, becouse.. well you said it..

go fuck your mother skinny head.

You have no clue what I have in my portfolio. Gangsta without a clue bought weed.com let me bow down now. It's amazing you could spend 4 hours a day searching domains but not realize that 2k for any 3 letter .com isn't as outrageous as you are making it out to be.

And congrats on your domain portfolio, God knows you need it with that brain of yours.

More quotes for the expert.

"The one I was looking at was fgd (not in that order). It seems to have been a fairly well established site for a number of years.
It's up for auction now and the last time I looked with 2 days to go it was at $2000.

I think I might give this one a skip!
May be one day.
"

"You were talking just about a 3 letter domain. If it has traffic, PR, or means anything then it goes for a lot. $2000 is a great deal if it has any pr. All those things add up."

"I have a few myself.
Right now, the bad ones go for $1k ish and the good ones are $3k+.

Something better would be $5k+
"

Bad ones 1k good ones 3k. That was posted in 2004. Why don't you do a little research before shaking your penis around on every subject that comes up?

3 letter domains are worthless if they have the letter "Q" in them, most 3 letter domains that are sold for high prices are for the initials of a company or person, or something in that respect.

Unless any of those three have type in traffic? if they do then its worth what you are asking for.

the only "good" one is XJN.COM , that should sell easy

Q's are bad , only maybe Qu8.com or QQQ.COM would be good in my book

I quoted the opinions of multiple people across 4 DOMAIN boards. They do this all the time. Collectively I would take their opinion and current facts on 3 letter domains over a know it all moron that doesn't even realize that isn't my domain in my sig.

If I buy them at 2k and sell them at 2k I'm not making any money. Doesn't a calculator come with every install of Windows these days?

i dont know.. does it?
if so, you might want to pull your head out of your ass and use it. while you are there, read as well.

(or Buy all for $15k, so youve got 8 domains youve spent 15k on that are worth 2k a pop... start, run, calc.exe now take 8 and times that by 2000. good job bozo)
