If Bush can say everything is on the table except for raising taxes, why can't the democrats say everything is on the table except for private accounts? Bush agrees to drop private accounts, or at the very least have them in addition to regular social security, and the dems will come to the table and hammer out a deal. If he won't drop the private accounts then there's no point in proposing a plan that will be rejected by Bush and the congress he has in his back pocket. |

You really couldn't try harder to prove that you have no understand of US politics. On the plus side, you share political beliefs about the corporate US with some very (in)famous people. Its not going to end well for you. |

Abortion - Women don't have a choice in the matter, regardless if it's their bodies. The baby should have a chance at life, no matter if its a rape victim or her fuck-up. Foreign Policy - You really have no aspect of what this issue entails, do you? We are the world's lone superpower, and we live in a realist world; power politics. Securing Iraq and spreading democracy will make the region and eventually the world, a much safer place. There have been countless recent studies that have proved that democracies do not fight other democracies, period. National Security - 9-11 would've happend on anyone's watch; Gore, Nader, anyone. Our intelligence was bad, not it's fixed. That is neither party's fault. The Missile Defense program has served crow to every Democrat as well, with nearly every test being successful. It's a proven fact that a Republican President will push for more funding into national security than any democrat would even think about. George Bush has made this nation stronger and more secure. Foreign Policy Again - The United Nations is a joke. They have zero legitimacy. Bush went there multiple times before we went in to Iraq and asked for assistance; but because France and Russia have no incentive to invading Iraq, they denied the US' request. We shouldn't even have gone to the UN in the first place; us rational "rednecks" knew what the result was going to be. Why should we place our nations national security in the hands of the French or Putin? Fuck that. "Best friends", like in real life, drift apart in the international scheme. We weren't always supposed to be buddy buddy with the countries we were with 50 years ago. We've kept many allies, and let some go. This is life as a superpower. Pakistan has been our greatest ally arguably since Iraq began and since 9/11; much more so than France or Russia. Chirac and his people will slowly come back to us in the next few years, as will the others that opposed the war. Hell, it's already happening in many cases and on many fronts. You need a strong leader to lead the world's superpower. Instead of waiting for the UN to get nothing done, he took it upon himself and finished the job. Where was the United Nations in Rwanda when hundreds of thousands of people were killed by machete in a matter of days? They knew about it, yet they still to this day will not publicly admit it. At least Clinton apologized for it. |
Also, I don't know how this became about social security, but since it did let me say this.
Social Security reform is a red herring. The shortfall in social security is nothing compared to the shortfall we face in medicare/medicaid in the future. The price of health care is going to bankrupt us long before anything else does, and since Bush doesn't have ANY sort of plan for health care he's using social security as a "diversion" of sorts. (I'm paraphrasing Bob Brinker, who I happen to agree with on this) |
There are a few people on this baord that could have cracked those voting machines.

Downtime you're so delusional I don't even know where to begin with you.
How about foreign policy? You don't think the reason other nations at the UN didn't want to invade Iraq is because they didn't believe our intelligence reports saying they had WMD? When we went to the UN that was our argument, it was nothing about freedom or democracy, it was that Saddam was a credible threat to our national security because he had WMD. We were wrong, dead wrong, and they were right. Yet you're still sitting here backing the president and bashing the UN when it should be the other way around. |

If you really believe that the election was "stolen" due to voting machine tampering then this is what you should do? Ask yourself if you really believe that. Ask yourself who told you that was true. Ask yourself what else those same people have told you. You will wake up tomorrow with better sources of information about the wordl around you. |

well, it kind of turned out that alot of high ranking members of the UN had a conflict of interest regarding Iraq |

Funforone, you can cut and paste all the propaganda you want, I'm still right and you're still wrong.
You can twist facts to support just about any argument if you try hard enough. In the south there are plenty of people who make strong arguments for the Confederate government based on states rights. The KKK uses the bible to justify their hatred of black people. (And their hatred of Jews, go figure) Any reasonable person can look at the facts can come to their own conclusion. The fact that you're not even willing to admit that Bush was wrong for invading Iraq, the fact that he lied to us, told us the war was about WMD's and then when he couldn't find the WMD's he changed the story to "we went to war to liberate Iraq" tells me all I need to know about you. You're still arguing about the UN not going along with Bush and how that makes them wrong. Have you been living in a vacuum? They were right, we were wrong, end of story. |
