What type of dog should I buy?

I think it's finally time I get a dog (puppy). I've wanted one for a long time, but was always too busy and out partying, so it wouldn't have been very fair to the dog.

I would LOVE to have a wolf-husky breed, but again, living where I live now that wouldnt be fair to the dog. If I ever move into the mountains or something, that's the first thing I'd buy..

What I'd like is a dog who is rather intelligent, won't grow too big and ofcourse is cute. I'm going to go look around today at various places, but any opinions are welcome

I love my 2 dogs. One is an Italian Greyhound. Smaller breed, really well mannered, quiet, likes to play and super affectionate. I highly recommend them.

Next is an English Bulldog if you have the $ for that.

Labs are the ONLY kind of dog to get; black, chocolate, or golden. I don't know how well they would do in Costa Rica though, might be too hot for them, though I suppose a good hair cut could really help keep them cool.

I'm asking the same question recently. The wife and I are thinking of either getting a Pug or a Boston Terrier.

I'd say get a boxer, but they are sort of big.. but they are awesome dogs(I have 2 fine bitches) IF you want a small dog, either a boston terrier or French Bulldog

Worked at a pet grooming store when I was a kid - saw all sorts of dogs and understand that a dog is only as good as his / her owner. However, the Springer Spaniels were always cute and for the most part had the best personality, regardless of owner - that, and they're not too big, too "girly", too "barky" or anything like that - just chill dogs.
