A little bit of everything is the way to go. Non-adult sites do offer way more marketing opportunities to capitalize on.

As far as I know, the same newbie resource sites that taught us the basics in the 1990s are still up. There's nothing preventing them from going to these sites iif they want to learn.

I remember working at an "incubator"/VC company back in the late 90s. They were so set on blowing $250,000 on "outdoor marketing" (billboards). Just like other dot bombs, the company went down just after 2001.

There is money in everything. You just need to know how to sell what it is you're selling. :2 cents:

trying to hit you up on icq ;)

As for advertising offline, there are surely effective ways of doing it, don't expect outstanding results out of it tho.

Mainstream online is going to continue to grow. There are niche markets that are in need of services and products that few businesses are in a position to provide.

kinetic 05-23-2005 07:49 AM

I sale short icq. Is that mainstream?

slackologist 05-23-2005 07:57 AM

Mainstream offline.. for us anyway.. is tending toward services. We sell a lot of products at low margins and service them at high margins. We sell few products at high margins but service them at high margins also. Services will be big in the immediate future of offline mainstream and this can be integrated to online business to some extent.
