    Lens, You ban STB because your admins are idiots and couldnt keep the search up?

    Thanks for banning my Board Search domain.

    It isnt my fault your "ADMINS" cant handle the search function or the job of keeping it up and running...if anything i was providing more of a service for GFY by opening up the huge amount of information contained here instead of them running off to JBM, PC, MP and doing their searching and posting there.

    I tried to see if you were interested in buying the technology or partnering up but i guess its better to have no search than to have a remote search or a bought local search.

    You're right though, i guess its better to have people start posting on other forums so that they can find/search threads and results at a later date then to have them here on GFY posting and searching..

    If you think i was robbing you for your traffic you have thought wrong..You know what i've earned off hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.com since i launched it on 14-nov-2004? A whole $12.00 from the datinggold.com sponsor! That probably works out to about $.10/hr when you consider the amount of work i put into it.

                                              my friend use to work for jupiter hosting as a system admin. and he was paid peanuts. you would think a company such as jupiter would pay more. they should concentrate on the admin side.

                                                  Makes sense, but considering how much loot gfy bings in you'd think they would have a 64 cpu spark machine with 1TB of ram dedicated for searches only...hell, i could do it off a few 4 p3's and and a few p4s.

                                                                              If you knew anything about the forum software this website uses, you would know that the search feature in vbulletin 3 is the most resource intensive script in the whole package. If it were enabled, the server load would be very high, and that would result in slower page load times, and even more downtime for this website.

                                                                              Until you rewrite search.php to not drive the load up 3 points per user search session, and still provide reliable results, you have no right to bitch at the owner.

                                                                              Now fuck off.

                                                                                      I have to say here, that notjoe did an excellent job on STB and it is not 'stealing advertising' like previous sites like brdtracker.

                                                                                      If you use it, as I do, you realize just how useful it is. Not all of us have 20 hours a day to be on GFY, but we do find it important to be notified when people post things about our program, questions, etc....

                                                                                      hahahahahahahahahahahaha simply sends you a notification with a link to GFY. It takes you right here, not to an intermediary page packed with advertising.

                                                                                      I can understand having to block it temporarily due to load/technical reasons, but I have to say it doesn't steal from your board; it greatly adds to it.

But most of the time, the search function is the only reason I visit GFY: it's a great resource when the search is working and all but useless when it isn't.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      GFY is a brand, a board that is watched not only by adult webmasters but mainstream executives, lawyers and more. This board is a voice.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      Ya don't like it move on but don't go crying it's not adjusting for you if ya do not know how to harness the power. Lens and his team have done an incredible job for this industry, I wouldnt give out a free ounce of the chemistry that makes this place what it is.
