Who's the best registrar?

Godaddy has pissed me the fuck off. I need to transfer my domains away from those fuckers. Who do you recommend I use?

Thanks

Moniker is the safest registrar...

aside from them I think DirectNIC and Enom are both good.

I found a charge to my credit card from Godaddy and after 2 days and half-dozen emails, those fuckers have yet to tell me what the charge is for.

If the domains are worth keeping then its worth paying. DirectNic are excellent.

I just setup an account at DirectNIC and transferred a few domains "after" I logged into my Godaddy account and unlocked them. Then I get an email from DirectNIC saying that Godaddy has put a REGISTRAR-LOCK on the domains and that I'd need to contact them about this before the transfer can take place. How many fucking locks does Godaddy have for domains?

Any of you guys delt with anything like this?

Also...as of now...they still have not told me why they charged my credit card. They continue to give me the run-around, bouncing me from one dept to the other and nobody seems to know what the fuck they are doing there or can tell me why my card was charged.

I've heard horror stories about GD but have never had a problem with them until the last few days

FuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuK!

It can take about a day for the database/whois to note the unlocking. Try it tomorrow, you should be ok then I believe.

One unknown charge on your CC from godaddy has left you so sour, that you are going to transfer away 50 domains?

Godaddy is one of the few registrars that has 24/7 phone support. You should call them, not email them.

Also, could you update this thread, once you find out what that charge was for? Thanks.

BulkRegister is not bad. I had a bunch of names with them.

However, now I keep all my 15,000 domain names at Moniker. Moniker has the best security, the best pricing, the best service, and the best features.

It wasn't the unknown charge that pissed me off so much - it was the fact that the customer service clowns have given me the run-around for two days. Multiple emails to multiple departments and they still have not told me why my card was charged. It's not very much money - but the fact that they charged my card without my knowledge or approval and now won't tell me what the charge was for - that pisses me the fuck off.

DeanCapture,

I would be happy to personally help you with your domains. We are an active member of this forum and support many of the folks here.

Plus.....I love taking business away from GD!

We are less expensive than DirectNic with the very highest levels of security and service.

Just let me know how I can help! - [email protected]

Moniker Man, you manage to hide your prices quite well on your website, and your claims that you are cheaper than DirectNic are wrong. I just wanted to transfer a domain to Moniker and realized that it would cost me $16.99, compared to DirectNic's 15. Will stay with DirectNic, they have so far been always fine.

you think that sucks, registerfly has had a credit card server down, and I have been unable to even pay for anything regarding my account for over a week. I've spent over 3 hours on the phone back and forth with them and my card fraud department fixing the issues, and its STILL not working.

Their customer service girl tried a transaction over the phone and even got declined. All she could say is "lets try another card". Like I really need more flags on my other cards due to their faulty system. If I have this issue again next week I am moving all the sites I have with them.

Imagine I had renewals coming up, and couldn't get payment to them. What a fucking nightmare. Only thing to do is move them.
