WiFi and hackers

Hackers must be having a field day with all these wifi routers that are wide open. I have been surfing for 3 days on other people network, they don't even change the password to their linksys router, I even used their printer, LOL

I use open connections as well. I don't mess up stuff, but I love it. Everywhere I go, I can almost use WIFI

As far as printing on their pc. Then your pc must use the same networkgroupname as theirs right?

You proberly use the default?

hehe same here. (in closed car tho)

For the n00bs who read this

1. Change your SSID name
2. Change the default password
3. Set SSID broadcast OFF
4. Set WPA+AES on(on linksys, otherwise use WEP)
5. Turn on MAC filtering
6. Change your internal networkgroupname
7. I have set passwords on my shared disks. So even when they get in, they stil have to use passwords(only possible in XP pro)

That should do the job

Andre
